I am currently a senior at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and will be graduating in General Studies this May. I was originally in Music Education, but I had a change of heart. I work at Martin & Castille Funeral Home   here in Lafayette. In the past six years of my college career I have had other interesting jobs such as limo driver and DJ at KISS102.1. It was during my tenure as a limo driver that I developed an interest in the funeral business.

After graduating in May I plan to enroll at Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service in Houston, Texas. Classes will start in November, and it will take a year to graduate. In the mean time I would like to serve half of my required one year apprenticeship. Currently  I am looking for a funeral home where I may serve my apprenticeship. Please let me know if you hear of any openings as such. After my second graduation (from Commonwealth) I plan to come back to Lafayette and look for a job so that I can pay off all of those student loans and credit card bills.

Update: I have found an apprenticeship position! I will begin my apprenticeship May 14th at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge Louisiana. This will work out perfectly because I will not have to move. Breaux Bridge is only fifteen minutes away from my home, here in Lafayette.
