They have the gall to PICK AND CHOOSE whatever they want from science that seems to support them BUT they hide the parts that don't. REAL scientists can NOT do that. 4-30-05: CLAIM: "Most Scientists are Atheists" ANSWER: It depends upon how you define "SCIENTIST". Out of a million college grads each year only about TWENTY of them get degrees in Astrophysics while almost a hundred-thousand get degrees in BIOLOGY. Biology is a joke. Its people are almost always lefties first and 'scientists' last. It is an easy degree that any jerk can get anywhere. Now if you include all these laughable low IQ Biology degrees then it is true that most 'scientists' are atheists and lefties. Biology is what they call a SOFT SCIENCE as it has almost NO math. But Physics is what is called a HARD SCIENCE. So is Chemistry. The three really tough degrees are PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY, and MATH. Engineering is much easier than these three but above Biology. Now I was in Astrophysics for ten years and I would say that about 40% of Astrophysicists are atheists. BUT they are NOT leftwing atheists. They laugh at "secular humanists" as people without morality who just USE science to batter religion. .....more to come..... LAWS AND THEORIES: May 7, 2005 Neither side seems to know what Laws and Theories are in regard to science, PROFESSIONAL science. They also don't see the difference bewteen a Law and a Rule. The anti-evolution people seem to think that a 'theory' is 'any old thing off the top of your head' while the pro-evolution people have had the nerve to say that the THEORIES they like, evolution in this case, are 'actually' LAWS except for some little technicality. Bull! If they were LAWS scientists would call them LAWS and be proud to SHOW ALL THE PROOF. ..... What a THEORY means to a REAL PROFESSIONAL SCIENTIST is that there is SOME proof of something but not enough to be absolutely sure. If there is ENOUGH proof for something to be true it then becomes a LAW!! In the case of Evolution there are a number of things that MUST be proven for it to be a LAW and they are NOT all proven so it is a THEORY. But remember, a THEORY is MORE than a Speculation or a Guess. It has SOME proof. Never forget that SECULAR HUMANISTS are Atheists FIRST and scientists usually not at all! They do not KNOW science they just USE science to beat on god-believers. They think that science is some sort of buffet table where they can pick and choose what they want while ignoring anything that does help their anti-religion cause. REAL SCIENTIST ATHEISTS consider them an embarrassment... IF and when EVOLUTION actually is proven the proof will have to be shown in the SCIENTIFIC JOURNALS for all to see. SCIENTIFIC PROOFS ABSOLUTELY MUST COPERNICUS AND GALILEO: Did you ever wonder why people sometimes say that COPERNICUS proved that the Earth went around the sun and others say that GALILEO proved that the earth went around the sun?? Well, both claims are correct as there are TWO ways of proving things in science: MATHEMATICALLY and EXPERIMENTALLY. ... Copernicus had no telescope. They were not yet invented. But his boss TYCHO BRAHE had recorded the movements of the planets for many years. Copernicus sat down and charted all the points and drew a line through them. He then saw that the movements were not what would be seen if the planets all went around the earth as the Earth stood still but rather the much more complicated movement of all the planets moving around something other than the Earth as the Earth was moving as well. He then played with different types of graphs and with different math cordinates and found that if one took the sun as not moving one got simple circular orbits around it. (Without a good telescope he could not tell that the were a bit oval, not perfect circles..... GALILEO proved it EXPERIMENTALLY by observing the movements as they went by and could see with his scope the crescents of the planets due to their positions with the sun. Just as we see with the moon. This is a crude explanation but the bottom line is that all COPERNICUS had were equations while GALILEO later had a telescope. May 7, 05 .....more to come H.L. MENCKEN AND THE MONKEY TRIAL: May 6, 2005. Go to eBay and see if you can find a soft cover book of HL Menckens newspaper columns about the Monkey Trials. I had one once in the 1970s. HL Menken was the most famous columnist of the 1920s. He was an atheist but NOT a liberal. He was at the trial and he was on the side of the Fundamentaists! He said that no one could come in and play BIG BROTHER to other peoples children against the parents whims. (He didnt use the term Big Brother but is was what he meant. Get the book.) He said, "Sure, they are Yahoos, but they're the Yahoos kids and they can teach them anything they want to. The motion picture INHERIT THE WIND was typical despicable dishonesty. They portrayed the HLM character as being pro-forcing-evoltion. They waited to make the movie until Mencken had a STROKE and went into a coma. Then he could sue them. "THINGS ARE PROVEN BY LOGIC AND REASON": said letter to the editor writer Steve Fry..... : 4-21-05: In the 1970s I worked in a NASA Space Science Building and got paid for reducing the spectroscopic data of the Orbiting Observatory #2, The "Copernicus". I had to periodically present and defend my work to a room full of Astrophysicists who were a generation older than I was. If I had said, "I am now going to defend my work using Logic and Reason" I would have been LAUGHED OUT OF THE ROOM and lost my job. NOTHING is proven by 'reason and logic'. Reason and logic are based upon LANGUAGE and language is illogical. It just sort of 'developed' over the generations. Language has many foggy definitions of words. People can use all sorts of WORD TRICKS such as IMPRECISE DEFINITIONS, FALSE PREMISES, LIES OF OMISSION. There are TWO ways to prove things: MATHEMATICALLY and EXPERIMENTALLY. An "EXPERIMENT" means to ACTUALLY "EXPERIENCE" something. (The scientific use of "Reason and Logic" is to try to figure out an experiment to use to see if an idea is correct or incorrect. The "Reason and Logic" helps to figure out how to set up an experiment but it is the EXPERIMENT that proves or disproves, not the Reason and Logic). For example when people wanted to know the speed of light they had to sit down and figure out how to create a device that could measure something that obviously moved fantastically fast. It's obvious that one can not do it with a stopwatch at two points. So a man used reason and logic to come up with the idea that one could bounce light repeatedly back and forth between huge mirrors placed on mountain tops many miles apart and have a fast spinning toothed wheel and play with the speed of the wheel teeth until the light was unable to go through them. Then it just took simple math to figure what speed the light was going to get blocked by wheel-teeth at the speed the wheel was moving.
