THE WEDDING

Malaysian Malays who are mostly Muslims follow the Islamic way in organizing Weddings. The Bersanding ceremony is not followed by many nowadays as it is believed not to be one of the items in a Muslim Malay wedding nowadays though there are some who still follow this old way. A Muslim Malay wedding is divided into : The Engagement, The Reciting of the holy Quran, The Wedding Vows, The exchange of rings, The Bersanding (optional) and The Cutting of Cake ceremony (optional).
