Mates Brew Limited is an independently owned and operated brewery,
opened December 1995, with the objective of providing high quality draught
beer at a price significantly below that of its major competitors. Largest
brewery in Hawkes Bay. First brewery in Napier since the 1931 earthquake.
Mates Draught
- traditional brown beer batched brewed. Use of selected New Zealand
pale and dark malt.
Mates Gold Lager
- a classical pale lager, produced in the pilsener tradition with
a slightly higher hop character giving a clena crisp bitterness and after
taste.
Mates Dark
- full bodied with the rounded flavours derived from a blend of
dark roasted malts.
Our beers are double-filtered to enhance their keeping quality,
but we do not pasteurize them. They are delivered cold, and must be stored
chilled prior to consumption to ensure the brewery-fresh character is maintained.
