With the intention of having a hobby business, after moving into a two acre farmlet in Greenpark, the brewery which is housed in an old dairy milking shed, fast became a busy little microbrewery, supplying beer to locals and outlets in the city area.

The Milkshed Brewing Company brews two top fermented ales. Greenpark Draught - a light ale with a good balance of maltiness and a hint of hops, aimed at the "Draught Ale' drinkers market.
Black Udder Dark Ale - a medium bodied dark ale with a smooth, but subtle nutty-malty flavour and a slightly spicy finish.

The Milkshed is designed to produce 1200 litre batch size, most of the equipment was sourced second hand and consists of a lot of ex-dairy industry stainless steel vats. Nigel Jerard is the brewer/manager/accountant/marketing&sale manager/ and general dogs body - yes folks I'm a sole operator and a one man band. My wife Debbie is a brewers widow and puts up with me and the beer as well as looks after our kids!

We are generally not open for tours, however they can be arranged by appointment in very special circumstances. Brewery sales hours ex-brewery are every Saturday 12 midday - 6pm.
