Hi Folks,

The “Fine Arts Folks” (we are still looking for a suitable name.) is no longer associated with any other organization. We feel that to be hindered by an outside management group that lacks understanding of what our artists are trying to accomplish is not in their best interest. We feel that our artists should have the artistic license to create and not be restricted by a repressive board of directors. That having been said, we are still in the throes of organizing a “Disorganized” group of creative artists, and can use you and your artistic talents for direction, support, and enthusiasm.

There are some issues on the table. A Plein Aire group is being discussed, at least a couple of "Fine Arts" shows in 2012, an on-line opportunity to show your work on our website (Check Out the "Artist's Galleries" tab above), some art classes for the public in the spring, and possibly some art based travel opportunities.

This is a pretty exciting time for the “Fine Arts Folks”, and, once again, we can use your input, enthusiasm, and creativity. We will be meeting at 7:PM at SIPS Main Street in downtown Mt Vernon on the third Wednesday of every month, and will be trading cookies for ideas.
