The Runebrute character was created to replace runes that were used to socket something accidentally.
Runebrute's pack has one of each of the game's 33 different runes.

STEP 1

        STEP 2 Extract all four files to Diablo II's "save" sub-folder.         STEP 3 Do "A" for network games or "B" for single-player games. A: Start a networked (LAN) version of the game, including Runebrute and whichever character needs runes from Runebrute's pack. Go to Step 4. B: Download and extract the file D2gfx.dll to your Diablo II root directory, replacing the version of the file that's already there. Download: D2gfx.zip In your Diablo II folder are two executables, Diablo II.exe and Game.exe, either of which will start a game. The shortcut on your Start Menu and/or Desktop points to one of these files. You need to create a second shortcut, one pointing to the other EXE file. In both shortcuts' properties (right-click on the shortcut to edit its target field), you need to add the -w switch. The targets should read something like this: "C:\Your Folder\DIABLO II\Diablo II.exe" -w "C:\Your Folder\DIABLO II\Game.exe" -w (note that the switch is outside the quotation marks, and includes the space before the hyphen) Start two games (clicking on each of your two shortcuts will open two windowed versions of the game - the darker screens are normal in this mode), open Runebrute in one screen, and your character (in Normal mode) in the other screen. Since Runebrute will be in the Rogue Encampment, your character may need to waypoint there.         STEP 4 Have Runebrute drop the rune(s) where your character can pick them up. If you have dial-up internet access, you need to be connected to your ISP for this to work. Final Note: Blizzard combined a great amount of time and talent to develop this awesome game. Mule characters can be used to "super-charge" your characters by giving him/her more runes (i.e. power) than they should have. Doing so basically has the effect of taking the edge off the game. Your character's conquests, discoveries, and peril are what combine to give the game its intrigue. Don't spoil your fun. |
