A Challenge to SDA Headquarters, The E.G. White Estate and Every Seventh-day Adventist

Dear Reader,

This document is a challenge to the SDA General Conference; the White Estate and specifically William Fagal, an official there; Neal Livingston, Ulicia Ulrike, and David M. Curtis, who castigate all who say that God and Ellen White called the SDA church Babylon. Moreover, this document is a challenge to every professing Seventh-day Adventist. I will publish any and all responses to this document.

On his Website, David M. Curtis challenges all who call the church Babylon. I hereby challenge David M. Curtis to send me a rebuttal to every point of this document or forever cease his lying tirade against those who are telling the unpopular truth about harlotry and Babylon.

There are folk on various SDA Internet forums and say that I teach that all who remain at the SDA church will be slaughtered in a literal Ezekiel 9 debacle. They try to make it appear that such is my personal theory. But Ellen White and Ezekiel are the ones I quote. She says Ezekiel 9 will be LITERALLY FULFILLED again. She says, as does Ezekiel 9, that men, maidens and little children all perish together, Testimonies, Vol. 5, p. 211 and the following Bible verses:

Ezekiel 9

¹ He cried also in mine ears with a loud voice, saying, Cause them that have charge over the city to draw near, even every man with his destroying weapon in his hand. ² And, behold, six men came from the way of the higher gate, which lieth toward the north, and every man a slaughter weapon in his hand; and one man among them was clothed with linen, with a writer's inkhorn by his side: and they went in, and stood beside the brasen altar. ³ And the glory of the God of Israel was gone up from the cherub, whereupon he was, to the threshold of the house. And he called to the man clothed with linen, which had the writer's inkhorn by his side; ⁴ And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof. ⁵ And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity: ⁶ Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house. ⁷ And he said unto them, Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain: go ye forth. And they went forth, and slew in the city. ⁸ And it came to pass, while they were slaying them, and I was left, that I fell upon my face, and cried, and said, Ah Lord GOD! wilt thou destroy all the residue of Israel in thy pouring out of thy fury upon Jerusalem? ⁹ Then said he unto me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceeding great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of perverseness: for they say, The LORD hath forsaken the earth, and the LORD seeth not. ¹⁰ And as for me also, mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity, but I will recompense their way upon their head. ¹¹ And, behold, the man clothed with linen, which had the inkhorn by his side, reported the matter, saying, I have done as thou hast commanded me.

Begin at My Sanctuary -- "Here we see that the church--the Lord's sanctuary--was the first to feel the stroke of the wrath of God. The ancient men, those to whom God had given great light and who had stood as guardians of the spiritual interests of the people, had betrayed their trust. They had taken the position that we need not look for miracles and the marked manifestation of God's power as in former days. Times have changed. These words strengthen their unbelief, and they say: The Lord will not do good, neither will He do evil. He is too merciful to visit His people in judgment. Thus 'Peace and safety" is the cry from men who will never again lift up their voice like a trumpet to show God's people their transgressions and the house of Jacob their sins. These dumb dogs that would not bark are the ones who feel the just vengeance of an offended God. Men, maidens, and little children all perish together." E. G. White, Testimonies, Vol. 5, 211.

How did Ellen White know that Ezekiel 9 would be LITERALLY fulfilled again? Because Ezekiel, chapters 1-9, are all about the same events, similar events involving the historic destructions of Jerusalem for disobedience and apostasy. In every instance a remnant was preserved.

But In Ezekiel 9, a remnant was gathered out of the apostate religious organization and that remnant fled to the mountains of Pella during the destruction of Jerusalem. That remnant was “gathered out” from A.D. 27, to A.D. 66, at which time it fled to the mountains. See Desire of Ages, 232, and SDA Bible Commentary, Vol. 5, pp. 74-76.

Ezekiel 5:9 speaks of the events of that chapter as being the worst thing God ever did or will ever do again. The worst thing God ever does is at the end-time friend. Just read Matthew 24:21, as follows:

²¹ For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

It is not honest for some to imply that this is ONLY my teaching! It is God’s, Ezekiel’s, Ellen White’s and my quoting of those sources.

Interesting questions regarding Ezekiel 9:

1. Where were the true Christians when the sealing of Ezekiel 9 took place?

2. Were they sealed in the apostate Temple organization?

3. Were they sealed when Christ and His disciples gathered them out of the apostate organization? Desire of Ages, p. 232, answers this question.

4. Where were the true Christians when the slaughter of A.D. 70 took place? See SDA Bible Commentary, Vol. 5, p. 75 for the answer, as well as The Great Controversy, Chapter 1.

5. Why did Ellen White call that debacle a PREFIGURE, GC, p. 25?

6. Where did she say the debacle would begin? 5T, p. 211?

7. Where did she say it would end? GC, chapter 1.

Some are teaching that William Fagal of the White Estate embarrassed me with his answer concerning Ellen White’s statement that her Instructor called the SDA church a harlot of Babylon. They are too lacking in spiritual discernment to realize that the following data not only embarrasses them, but William Fagal, Director of the White Estate, who lied and said that Ellen White never called the church a harlot. But he did tell the truth in saying that if Ellen White did indeed call the church a harlot, then she would be calling it Babylon! How could I be embarrassed by the clear testimony that follows.

Does God say that the SDA leaders like William Fagal are liars? Recall that Ellen White said that each of the ancient prophets wrote more for us than the Jews: William Fagal lied!

Isa 30:9 That this [is] a rebellious people, lying children, children [that] will not hear the law of the LORD:

Isa 32:7 The instruments also of the churl [are] evil: he deviseth wicked devices to destroy the poor with lying words, even when the needy speaketh right.

Isa 56:10 His watchmen [are] blind: they are all ignorant, they [are] all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber.

Isa 59:13 In transgressing and lying against the LORD, and departing away from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood.

Jer 7:4 Trust ye not in lying words, saying, The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD, [are] these.

Jer 7:8 Behold, ye trust in lying words, that cannot profit.

Jer 29:23 Because they have committed villany in Israel, and have committed adultery with their neighbours' wives, and have spoken lying words in my name, which I have not commanded them; even I know, and [am] a witness, saith the LORD.

Ellen White called the church Babylon in 1903, when her Instructor asked: "How has the faithful city become a harlot." William Fagal of the White Estate admitted that such an allegation would be calling the church Babylon. But it is more than an allegation. Her instructor called the church a harlot in the same way--the very same words that Jeremiah and Isaiah used to call Israel a harlot. Some do not believe that Israel was any part of Babylon. That is not true. William Fagal was correct. Satan has one brothel. He is the Father or high priest of that brothel. Rome is the wife or mother. The fallen churches are the sister daughters. A harlot is part of Satan's brothel.

One simple short question friends: Was God calling Israel a harlot through Isaiah and Jeremiah in the following verses?

Isa 1:21 How is the faithful city become an harlot! it was full of judgment; righteousness lodged in it; but now murderers.

Isa 23:16 Take an harp, go about the city, thou harlot that hast been forgotten; make sweet melody, sing many songs, that thou mayest be remembered.

Jer 2:20 For of old time I have broken thy yoke, [and] burst thy bands; and thou saidst, I will not transgress; when upon every high hill and under every green tree thou wanderest, playing the harlot.

Yes, God was calling the apostate Jewish Synagogue a harlot. So when Ellen White's INSTRUCTOR uses the same words in application to the SDA church, what is wrong with SDA interpretation skills?! They suddenly go out the window!

Here are Ellen White's statements calling the church a harlot:

STATEMENT #1: "No stronger delusion can possess the human mind than that which makes men believe they are on the right foundation, and that God accepts their works, when they are sinning against him. When placed in the furnace fire to be tried by the great Refiner, much that has been esteemed fine gold will be consumed as dross. Can Christ say of his professed followers, These are my peculiar people; I gave myself for them, to redeem them from all iniquity, that they should show forth my praise, who have called them out of darkness into my marvelous light. Would not the Lord say, rather, How is the beautiful city become a harlot, and my Father's house a place of merchandise. Because of your unbelief, I cannot do many mighty works among you." {RH, November 7, 1882 par. 12}

Notice the date, November 7, 1882. Now notice the statement of 1903:

William Fagal of the White Estate, told Confidential that if Ellen White ever called the church a harlot, that would be the same as calling it Babylon! Well there you have it friend, the above statement! She was calling the church Babylon according to a leading official at the White Estate. No if's, and's, or but's about it!

STATEMENT #2: "How is the faithful city become an harlot! it was full of judgment; righteousness lodged in it; but now murderers. Thy silver is become dross, thy wine mixed with water: thy princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves: every one loveth gifts, and followeth after rewards: they judge not the fatherless, neither doth the cause of the widow come unto them.

"O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the Lord." "Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils: for wherein is he to be accounted of?" "Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help. His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish. Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God." "O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths." {FE 222.2}

Checking in the preface of Fundamental's to Christian Education, we find that the date for the above quote was October, 1893. So from July, 1893, when she said the church was keeping the commandments and heeding the Laodicean message and not to call it Babylon, to October, 3 months later, after she wrote to Stanton and Caldwell, upbraiding them for calling the church Babylon, Ellen G. White called the church Babylon by calling it a harlot! Go figure!

STATEMENT #3: The context of the statement is the same as the context of Isaiah and Jeremiah's statements that Israel had played the harlot. Both were calling for a reformation AFTER ISRAEL HAD PLAYED THE HARLOT. That is the TOTAL CONTEXT of the next statement by Ellen White calling the church a harlot of Babylon. And if you are to blind and self-deceived to see that in application to this statement by Ellen White, then deal with statements #1 and 2.

Shall We Be Found Wanting?

St. Helena, California, April 21, 1903.

Our position in the world is not what it should be. We are far from where we should have been had our Christian experience been in harmony with the light and the opportunities given us, had we from the beginning constantly pressed onward and upward. Had we walked in the light that has been given us, had we followed on to know the Lord, our path would have grown brighter and brighter. But many of those who have had special light are so conformed to the world that they can scarcely be distinguished from worldlings. They not stand forth as God's peculiar people, chosen and precious. It is difficult to discern between him that serveth God and him that serveth Him not. {8T 247.1}

In the balances of the sanctuary the Seventh-day Adventist church is to be weighed. She will be judged by the privileges and advantages that she has had. If her spiritual experience does not correspond to the advantages that Christ, at infinite cost, has bestowed on her, if the blessings conferred have not qualified her to do the work entrusted to her, on her will be pronounced the sentence: "Found wanting." By the light bestowed, the opportunities given, will she be judged. {8T 247.2}

                God's Purpose For His People

     God has in store love, joy, peace, and glorious triumph for all who serve Him in spirit and in truth. His commandment-keeping people are to stand constantly in readiness for service. They are to receive increased grace and power, and increased knowledge of the Holy Spirit's working. But many are not ready to receive the precious gifts of the Spirit which

God is waiting to bestow on them. They are not reaching higher and still higher for power from above that through the gifts bestowed, they may be recognized as God's peculiar people, zealous of good works. {8T 247.3}

"Repent, and Do the First Works"

Solemn admonitions of warning, manifest in the destruction of dearly cherished facilities for service, say to us: "Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works." Revelation 2:5. Why is there so dim a perception of the true spiritual condition of the church? Has not blindness fallen upon the watchmen standing on the walls of Zion? Are not many of God's servants unconcerned and well satisfied, as if the pillar of cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night rested upon the sanctuary? Are there not those in positions of responsibility, professing to know God, who in life and character deny Him? Are not many of those who count themselves as His chosen, peculiar people satisfied to live without the evidence that of a truth God is among them to save them from Satan's snares and attacks? {8T 248.1}

Would we not now have much greater light if, in the past, we had received the Lord's admonitions, acknowledged His presence, and turned away from all practices contrary to His will? Had we done this, the light of heaven would have shone into the soul-temple, enabling us to comprehend the truth and to love God supremely and our neighbors as ourselves. Oh, how greatly Christ is dishonored by those who, professing to be Christians, disgrace the name they bear by failing to make their lives correspond to their profession, by failing to treat one another with the love and respect that God expects them to reveal in kind words and courteous acts!

The powers from beneath are stirred with deep intensity. War and bloodshed are the result. The moral atmosphere is poisoned with cruel, horrible doings. The spirit of strife is spreading; it abounds in every place. Many souls are being taken possession of by the spirit of fraud, or underhand dealing. Many will depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils. They do not discern what spirit has taken possession of them. {8T 249.1}

A Failure To Honor God

One who sees beneath the surface, who reads the hearts of all men, says of those who have had great light: "They are not afflicted and astonished because of their moral and spiritual condition." Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations. I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before Mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not." "God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie," because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved," "but had pleasure in unrighteousness." Isaiah 66:3, 4; 2 Thessalonians 2:11, 10, 12. {8T 249.2}

The heavenly Teacher inquired: "What stronger delusion can beguile the mind than the pretense that you are building on the right foundation and that God accepts your works, when in reality you are working out many things according to worldly policy and are sinning against Jehovah? Oh, it is a great deception, a fascinating delusion, that takes possession of minds when men who have once known the truth, mistake the form of godliness for the spirit and power thereof; when

they suppose that they are rich and increased with goods and in need of nothing, while in reality they are in need of everything." {8T 249.3}

God has not changed toward His faithful servants who are keeping their garments spotless. But many are crying, "Peace and safety," while sudden destruction is coming upon them. Unless there is thorough repentance, unless men humble their hearts by confession and receive the truth as it is in Jesus, they will never enter heaven. When purification shall take place in our ranks, we shall no longer rest at ease, boasting of being rich and increased with goods, in need of nothing. {8T 250.1}

Who can truthfully say: "Our gold is tried in the fire; our garments are unspotted by the world"? I saw our Instructor pointing to the garments of so-called righteousness. Stripping them off, He laid bare the defilement beneath. Then He said to me: "Can you not see how they have pretentiously covered up their defilement and rottenness of character? 'How is the faithful city become an harlot!' My Father's house is made a house of merchandise, a place whence the divine presence and glory have departed! For this cause there is weakness, and strength is lacking." {8T 250.2}

                   A Call For Reformation

     Unless the church, which is now being leavened with her own backsliding, shall repent and be converted, she will eat of the fruit of her own doing, until she shall abhor herself. When she resists the evil and chooses the good, when she seeks God with all humility and reaches her high calling in Christ, standing on the platform of eternal truth and by faith laying hold upon the attainments prepared for her, she will be healed. She will appear in her God-given simplicity and

purity, separate from earthly entanglements, showing that the truth has made her free indeed. Then her members will indeed be the chosen of God, His representatives. {8T 250.3}

The time has come for a thorough reformation to take place. When this reformation begins, the spirit of prayer will actuate every believer and will banish from the church the spirit of discord and strife. Those who have not been living in Christian fellowship will draw close to one another. One member working in right lines will lead other members to unite with him in making intercession for the revelation of the Holy Spirit. There will be no confusion, because all will be in harmony with the mind of the Spirit. The barriers separating believer from believer will be broken down, and God's servants will speak the same things. The Lord will co-operate with His servants. All will pray understandingly the prayer that Christ taught His servants: "Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." Matthew 6:10. (252) {8T 251.1}

I am not saying that Ellen White branded the church as a harlot of Babylon FOREVER. She gave conditions under which the church could and should reform, but the church has never met those conditions. It has gone from bad to worse, just as ancient Israel did. That is why Ezekiel 9 is LITERALLY REPEATED!

William Fagal tried to rationalize the 1903 statement as accruing because of the Alpha of Apostasy involving Kellogg and cronies. Fagal makes a major mistake in so doing, for the reason that Ellen White said that the Omega would surely follow and be far worse in scope. Indeed, she said it would not be “met,” but would develop and wax stronger until Jesus comes. She said it would “remove God.” She said “nothing would be allowed to stand in its way.” Selected Messages, Bk. 1, 204, 205.

Another reason why Fagal makes a major mistake in rationalizing the 1903 harlot statement by Ellen White’s Instructor, (The Holy Spirit), is that she called the church a harlot on at least two other occasions, and as early as November 7, 1882. I repeat the statement for emphasis:

Why do Professing SDA’s Get Excited When Reminded That God Called the Church a Harlot of Babylon, When His Servant Ellen White Said the Church is Worse Than Babylon?

"Like ancient Israel, the church has dishonored her God by departing from the light, neglecting her duties, and abusing her high and exalted privilege of being peculiar and holy in character. Her members have violated their covenant to live for God and him only. They have joined with the selfish and world-loving. Pride, the love of pleasure, and sin have been cherished, and CHRIST HAS DEPARTED. His Spirit has been quenched in the church. Satan works wide by side with professed Christians yet they are so destitute of spiritual discernment that they do not detect him." E.G. White, Testimonies, Vol. 2, pp. 441-442.

The above statement is a general comment about “the church.” Testimonies, Vol. 2, pp. 441-2, were written in 1870. See the contents section at the beginning of the book for this date.

"Among the professed followers of Christ, there is the same pride, formalism, vainglory, selfishness, and OPPRESSION, that existed in the Jewish nation." E.G. White, Sketches from the Life of Paul, 251-252.

The Jewish nation was called a harlot by its prophets!

"God's professed people are selfish and self-caring....They are idolaters, and are worse, in the sight of God, than the heathen, graven-image worshppers who have had no knowledge of a better way." Testimonies, vol. 2, 441-442.

Now I realize that the ancient prophets and Ellen White wrote to correct the ways of God’s backsliding people and that any condemnations of them as being a harlot of Babylon, did not mean that they had to remain a harlot. However, there is every evidence in the world that the SDA church militant, NOT THE FINAL REMNANT SDA CHURCH TRIUMPHANT, will remain a harlot to receive the punishment of another literal fulfillment of Ezekiel 9. And why is that punishment meted out? Because the church embraces the Omega of Apostasy, and Ellen White said clearly that the Omega would develop and wax stronger until Jesus comes:

"One thing it is certain is soon to be realized, the great apostasy, which is developing and increasing and waxing stronger, and will continue to do so until the Lord shall descend from heaven with a shout. We are to hold fast the first principles of our denominated faith, and go forward from strength to increased faith. Ever we are to keep the faith that has been substantiated by the Holy Spirit of God from the earlier events of our experience until the present time. We need now larger breadth, and deeper, more earnest, unwavering faith in the leadings of the Holy Spirit. If we needed the manifest proof of the Holy Spirit's power to confirm truth in the beginning, after the passing of the time, we need to-day all the evidence in the confirmation of the truth, when souls are departing from the faith and giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils. There must not be any languishing of soul now." (E.G. White, Special Testimonies, Series B, No. 7, p. 57). Sanitarium, California, Dec. 4, 1905.

The entire context of the above statement is involved with the Omega of Apostasy. The date: December 4, 1905! After she had pretty well met the Alpha Apostasy of the Kellogg crisis.

All the above evidence would have to be turned around if the Laodicean SDA church militant was to go through to the Kingdom without encountering another literal fulfillment of Ezekiel 9 beginning at its Sanctuaries around the world. But there is yet another strong evidence by Ellen White:

"The enemy of souls has sought to bring in the supposition that a great reformation was to take place among Seventh-day Adventists, and that this reformation would consist in giving up the doctrines which stand as the pillars of our faith, and engaging in a process of reorganization. Were this reformation to take place, what would result? The principles of truth that God in His wisdom has given to the remnant church, would be discarded. Our religion would be changed. The fundamental principles that have sustained the work for the last fifty years would be accounted as error. A NEW ORGANIZATION would be established. Books of a NEW ORDER would be written. A system of intellectual philosophy would be introduced. The founders of this system would go into the cities, and do a wonderful work. The Sabbath of course, would be lightly regarded, as also the God who created it. Nothing would be allowed to stand in the way of the NEW MOVEMENT. The leaders would teach that virtue is better than vice, but GOD BEING REMOVED, they would place their dependence on human power, which, without God, is worthless. Their foundation would be built on the sand, and storm and tempest would sweep away the structure.

Any true reformer can point out how each of the specifications in the above statement has been fulfilled. If any reform of the church should “stand in the way the new movement,” THEN Ellen White’s statement would be false and she would become a false prophet.
