it run) And to Dan , Paul , Al , Roger , Kail , Hugh, and all of you who made this happen.This is the reason I race with the

# 43 Dean Gills! Crew Chief " GILL" Has reason to smile He has tuned the # 43 to 2 out of 3 main events on the 2008
tour..
Dean Gill ( # 43) Wins his First of 2 mains at port angeles Speedway June 28th.. He Would go on to win the main at South
sound on July 5th.
CANADIAN OLD TIMERS AT SSS
There were fireworks in the sky and on the race track Friday night, July 4, 2008 at South Sound Speedway.
The Canadian Old Time Racing Association made their yearly visit to the West Coast’s
fastest 3/8’s mile paved oval. Spokane, Washington’s #25 Justin Robideaux
set fast time and a New Track Record with a 15.650. The top three in their A-Heat
were winner #5 Jim Rankin from Cobble Hill, BC, Dennis Morneau, and Robideaux. The
top three in their B-Heat were winner #39 Hugh Glover from Surrey, BC, Larry Wannamaker, and Terry Cessford. Chilliwack, BC’s
#54 Wannamaker would bring the field down for the green flag start and lead the first four laps. On lap five, the #39 Glover, would take the lead and lead the next three laps until Robideaux made a pass
for the lead on lap eight. Spokane, Washington’s Robideaux would go on
to win the OTRA 35-Lap Main Event. Rounding out their top five were runner up
Morneau, Joe Dardengo, James Campbell, and Jim Rankin
The Canadian Old Time Racing Association was back for day two of racing at South Sound Speedway. Victoria, BC’s #03 Dennis Morneau set fast time with a 15.798. The winner of their Trophy Dash was #17 Joe Dardengo from Victoria, BC.
The top three in their A-Heat was winner #22 Larry Joyce from Parksville, BC, James Campbell, and Dennis Morneau. The top three in their B-Heat were winner #54 Larry Wannamaker, from Chilliwack, BC,
Terry Cessford, Hugh Glover. The #54 Wannamaker would bring the field around
for the start and lead the first eight laps. On lap nine, Abbotsford, BC’s
#43 Dean Gill, driving the Parksville Safety Center/Wiebe & Jesky Funeral Providers 1930 Ford Model A Sedan would wrestle
away the lead from Wannamaker and go on to win the OTRA 35-Lap Main Event. Rounding
out their top five were runner up Dan Morneau, Jim Rankin, James Campbell, and Dennis Morneau.
