The adoption of one horse makes room for another horse in need so please consider providing a home to one of these truly special equines. Besides, their love when given is unconditional and there is nothing sweeter than a gentle nicker greeting you in the morning or more heart warming than a horse kiss!

If you are interested in adopting an equine through the Equine Rescue Resource Inc., please review our criteria and be prepared:

References - veterinarian, farrier and someone who can vouch for your horsemanship skills
Site Inspection - an ERR representative will visit your stabling facilities.  In the event we do not have an inspector available in your area, detailed photographs, of your shelter, fencing and other animals will be required
Adoption Range - all potential adopters must reside withing a 3 hour driving distance of Pine Bush, NY.
Placement Agreement - all adopters must be 18 years or older with valid state identification, so that you may legally execute a protective contract
Adoption Fee - Companion Only $100, Rideable With Limitations $400 - $700, Rideable With No Limitations $700 - $1500. Horses will start at the low end of their range, and increase with time spent in our care.
Yearly Follow Up - Once a year, you will be required to update us with veterinary records and a current photograph of your adopted horse.  Those that do not voluntarily keep in touch will be contacted.
No Resale - ERR horses cannot be sold, transferred, assigned or given away.  In the event you are unable to keep your horse, he/she must be returned to ERR
Companion Animal - horse are herd animals and for their mental and physical well being, you must provide a suitable companion animal for an adopted horse.

If you are unable to agree to our terms, you will not be permitted to adopt.
You are responsible for providing the proper care and ongoing maintenance of the equine placed with you. This includes providing appropriate year-round shelter, free access to water, proper feed, inoculations, dental care, hoof care and deworming. You are also responsible for providing veterinary care as necessary in the event of illness or accident.  Please know that if you fail to properly care for an ERR horse, we will recover the horse and pursue all legal remedies, which may include enforcement of cruelty laws and criminal prosecution.
All horse adopted must be picked up within 48 of placement.  If prompt pickup is not possibly, day to day boarding or shipping may be available for a nominal fee.

We look forward to meeting you!

This area will be used for information about specific members. We may list each member's birthday for the month, or other significant events, such as weddings, births, or graduations. This is a great way to keep up to date on how fellow members are doing. We could also have links to members personal web sites.

Permanent Residents

In this column we may review past events and how successful each of them was. For example, this past month we had twenty-four members visit the local shelter to help feed lunch to the homeless. It was an enjoyable experience for everyone involved, and one we hope to do again.

Let us know if there are any events or updates you would like to share with fellow members.
