ASPCA NYC CARRIAGE HORSE CAMPAIGN UPDATE: LETTERS NEEDED!
As part of the ASPCA's ongoing push to make the Big Apple a safer and more humane city for carriage horses, the Government Affairs office has been lobbying city officials to get Int. 851 passed. Introduced in the Housing and Buildings Committee by Speaker Peter Vallone and Committee Chairman Archie Spigner, the bill calls for the installation of an automatic sprinkler system in all stables of four or more horses. Already existing stables would have to comply by July 1, 2002.
