Welcome to the Equine Rescue Resource
" just because its a little beat up, doesn't mean you should throw a life away"
Tom Smith, trainer of Seabiscuit
Equine Rescue Resource Inc. (ERR) is a nonprofit 501C3 organization helping horses in need. We are striving to prevent cruelty to equines, educate the public on equine welfare issues, facilitating rescue efforts and helping horses in need.
We are dedicated to fostering a cohesive environment within the equine community and strongly believe that education, cooperation and networking are the keys to making a difference for horses in need.
At this time, volunteers are needed to help care for our rescued animals. If you have a few hours to spare mucking, grooming or maintaining fences/shelters, we would love to hear from you. To fill out a volunteer application or schedule a day/time, please contact us.

Coventry Seizure
The Chenango County Sheriff's office contacted us seeking help with a cruelty case. We assisted with the removal of the animals on April 4th and are providing safe haven to several until the case is concluded. We are accruing significant bills and seeking donations to offset costs. If you can help with hay, shavings or monetary support it will be greatly appreciated.
NY Standardbreds Need Homes
We received a call on April 13th from a family regarding a herd of 20 mares and 5 stallions in Orange County, NY. The owner is terminally ill in hospice and wants to know his horses are going to have good homes. The family is unable to keep the horses. We agreed to help find these trotters and pacers good homes, and are asking for anyone with room to contact us. As we have more information, we will share it. We will be visiting the family and identifying/photographing the horses and putting together a list. I was advised that there are no youngsters, they are all registered stock over 4 years old. Two of the stallions are in their 20's. If you can help by taking in a horse or getting the word out, we would appreciate it.
We've had a very busy year, lot of horses needing our help and some, due to limitations, are now on our waiting list. Please check out the horses available in the Placement Program. If you have room in your heart, and your farm, please considering adopting one of our horses.
In the interest of securing safe, loving and competent homes in a "sooner rather than later manner", we have waived the adoption costs on a few of our most deserving horses. Donations will not be turned down, but they are not required, only the right home is.

We are continuously finding horses in need of our assistance, and we work hard to provide them with the care and sustenance they need. The horses are desperately in need of Guardian Angels to sponsor them. Won't you help a homeless horse and be a Guardian Angel?
