CUB SCOUT DAY CAMP

June is fast approaching and in these parts of the wild, June is Day Camp month. This year’s theme is Safari Funfest! This year’s camp will take place on the tundra of Camp Kavanaugh, in beautiful Crestwood, KY. The dates for the funfest are the week of June 18-22. The coordinators are planning exciting adventures for the week. Archery, BB Shooting, Swimming, Crafts, Nature and more. Mike Tanner (228-1704) is the coordinator for Pack 154. Registration deadline is June 4. Volunteers are still very much needed. Please contact Mike if you can help.

PACK PICNIC

The day is June 2. The place is the Wendall Moore Park in beautiful Buckner. The time is 11:00-3:00pm. The Pack will provide hot dogs, and the dens will be assigned a dish to pass. The theme is "Wet and Wild". All of the games will be carnival games. Everyone is welcome to play. All games are free!

11-12:00 Arrival

12-1:00 Eat lunch

1-2:30 Play games

2:30-3:00 Clean up

POOL PARTY

Scouts and their immediate families are invited to Pack 154's Pool Party at the Oldham County Aquatic Center in Wendall Moore Park,

Buckner. The fun will begin at 6:00pm with pizza and soft drinks at the park pavilion and at 7:30pm the pool will be opened just to our pack - and it's all FREE! We need a head count for those who plan to eat the pizza so please let your den leader know if you are planning to attend. Pool Rules: - No outside food or drink can be brought into the Aquatic Center. The snack bar will be open for purchasing food and drinks inside the pool. All children 4 years old and younger must wear little swimmer diapers under their swim suits. Any questions, call Carl Herring, 292-1766.

COMMITTEE REPLACEMENTS

The above list of volunteers are a special group of people. They are unique in that they can balance the need to keep smiles and enthusiasm with the boys and handle the technical responsibilities of running the pack. There are now, and will be very soon, a few openings. If you are and organized, energetic person who can live with 100 smiles a months, please step forward and volunteer your time for a worthwhile cause. Contact Chris States at 228-7576 for details.

PACK NATURE HIKE

This years Pack 154 Nature Hike will be conducted by Glenn Yost, director of Creasey Mahan Nature Preserve

Cost: $2.00 per person

Time: 7pm - 9:30pm. This will be an evening hike, due to the warm weather in July. The hike will begin with a brief introduction by Mr. Yost. He will be asking the cub scouts and family members to look for animal habitats, i.e. holes in ground, nests.... and be on the "ear-out" for animal sounds. Water bottles are welcome. You may bring flash lights too. Dogs ON LEASH are welcome. The hike will conclude with a bonfire and s'mores for everyone. The field house will be open for our use of the facilities.

BASEBALL AND CAMPING!

August 4, 2001, is Cub Scout Night at Louisville Slugger field. Come enjoy the game, be in a parade, watch movies on the scoreboard, and then camp under the stars. The game is only $8.00 per person.
