May Pack Meeting - Time for Graduation

The May pack meeting brings us our special "Graduation of Ranks" ceremony where the boys will graduate to the next rank. This is to signify a closure to their present rank, which they should have completed by now, and the beginning of their next adventure in Scouting. All boys will move up a rank even if they have not completed their present rank. Please encourage all the boys to complete their present rank as soon as possible...summer is a perfect time to work on the next rank! However, if a scout needs more time, he will have until September 1st, 2000 to earn the badge in his current rank.

DAY CAMP

Dan Boone district Summer Day Camp will be here before you know it! Dates for this extra fun summer event is scheduled for June 19-23. It is held at Camp Kavanaugh in Crestwood, usually from 9am-4pm. Scouts have so much fun at day camp doing activities such as arts & crafts, BB shooting, archery, swimming, and much more. At this time, we are asking for parent volunteers to help out one, two or all five days at day camp. Debbie Morgan will be coordinating this event for our Pack. If you have any questions about the camp or if you would like to volunteer, please call her at 228-5288.

NATIONAL SUMMERTIME AWARD

The National Summertime Award is available for scouts to earn over the summer by attending our pack sponsored activities. Scouts interested in earning this award must attend one(1) pack event in each of the months of June, July, and August. In June, we will have our Annual Pack Picnic, Cincinnati Reds Game & Pool Party in July, and in August the Hosedown. We are still in the planning stages for the Fishing Derby and a Redbirds Game at the new Slugger Field. Newsletters will continue through the summer months so watch for updates and info in the upcoming newsletters.
