There will be military displays of vehicles, planes, and helicopters. Cub Scouts can test their skills at the archery and BB ranges. A challenge course, fishing derby and other activities will also be at the games. All areas will run from 9AM-5PM with a special closing stage show at 8PM. A trading post and concession stand will also be available. The fee of $5 includes a patch and all activities. After September 22 and at the gate, the fee is $6. Religious Award
There is an award that can beearned through scouting. These awards are earned through all faiths. For Protestants, they can earn the God and Me, God and Family, and God and Church awards. Catholics can earn the Light of Christ and Parvuli Dei awards. Workbooks can be obtained at both scout shops. The awards for Islam and Judaism are Bismillah and Aleph respectively. Latter Day Saints give the Light of the World. Other faiths have similar awards. The awards are made directly by the boy¡¯s church/synagog/mosque. St John is offering a Protestant class.
Any questions for the St John class should to be directed to Debbie Schuette at 228-2936, or DSchuett@aol.com. Parishioners at T.O.O.L. whose sons are interested in pursuing their religious awards can contact Debbie Ferko at 929-0177 or DFerko@aol.com. Parents of other faiths should contact their religious leader.

CUBMASTER'S CORNER
The theme for the month of October is ¡°Our Gifts and Talents.¡± I would like to encourage the dens (Den 6 in particular since you guys have the honors for doing a skit and Den 1 since you boys will be doing the honors as greeters and setting up a display at the October pack meeting) to talk with the boys about their own specific ¡°gifts and talents.¡± Remember that your gifts and talents can be anything, like playing sports, drawing and painting, magic, singing and so on.
I would also like to remind everyone that our first and probably most important fund raiser for the year, e.g. Popcorn Sales, will have its kickoff on October 10, 2000. We will not begin selling popcorn at that time, but we should have all of the information we need after that meeting to get ready for what I believe will be our most successful popcorn sales drive ever. Remember, the better we do with our fund raisers, the more we can do for and with the boys.
Don¡¯t forget that our next pack meeting will be October 30, 2000 at St. John UMC in the gym. As you might already have guessed, that¡¯s the night before Halloween and you never know, something spooky might turn up at the pack meeting. Ghosts and goblins need to practice too.
