Tree of Giving Caroling at Nursing Home on Monday, December 18

Just a reminder that we will be caroling Monday night at Everett Transitional Care Services, previously known as Bethany Nursing Home (Pacific Campus).  Let's all again meet in the lobby area at 6:45 pm.  We will sing up and down the halls and head toward the activity/day room for juice and cookies.
Our contacts are Mary Marburger, nurse supervisor, and Cleo Doyle, receptionist.  I will plan to have song sheets of traditional carols for everyone.
 See you all there..........

Prayer service scheduled for December 7th in Parish Hall

Pack 18 is having a prayer service immediately preceding the pack meeting at 6:30 on Thursday, December 7th.  The theme is advent and the meaning behind "The Twelve Days of Christmas."  We will also have some guest speakers who will talk about vocations with the Church.  Please come and celebrate with us!

Pack 18 finally enters Scout Expo

Scout Expo is a showcase of scouting skills, as well as a place for scouts to see what other units and groups are doing.  This year, the Expo will be on May 6th at 9:30 at Voyager Elementary in Everett.  Each one of our dens are working on something having to do with aircraft and scheduling boys and parents to man our booth.  There will be rope bridges, demonstrations, and lots more.  Everyone who comes will get a segment.  Contact Ted Bullock for more info.

Seattle Archdiocese honors scouts

May 7th at St. James Cathedral in Seattle, the Archdiocese will have a ceremony for all scouts who have earned their religious emblems in the past year.  You still have time to earn your Parvuli Dei or Light of Christ before then.  The deadline for this ceremony is April 15th.  Contact Darren Popkins for more info.

Basic Leader Training required for leaders

Basic Leader Training is a requirement for the pack and new leaders.  If you are a new leader, or have changed jobs (Den Leader to Committee Member), BLT is a fun way to learn about what in the heck you volunteered for.  An added bonus is that Ted Bullock will be teaching a portion of the course!  Contact him for more info.

Webelos Scouts Invited to Camporee

This year, Troop 18 has invited the Webelos to attend the annual Camporee on June 4th. The Camporee is a place where all of the troops from the district camp together and have competitions in areas like cooking, building fires, etc. Troop 18 will get points if we attend.

All of our 1st and 2nd year Webelos (this years 1st year Webelos and Bears) are invited. Contact your den leader or Tim Hanley if you would like to attend. This is a good time for the Webelos to see Boy Scouts in action.

Fun Fest is.......Fun!

Susan Lucas is going to be organizing the Fun Fest event for this year.  This is a great break-in to all of the camping that you and your boys will be doing in the years to come.  The camp will be on the 23rd-24th or 24th-25th of June and the cost is only $31 for each parent/son team.  The boys (and you too) will be working on crafts, singing songs and telling stories at the campfire.

Color Guard needed for 4th of July Parade

We need a group of at least 4 boys who are well uniformed and strong enough to carry a flag while marching in the July 4th Parade.  Instruction will be given by Ted Bullock (who is a Color Guard member for the Coast Guard).  If there are enough interested, we can have each den represented.  Contact Ted Bullock for more info.

Resident Camp at Fire Mountain in July

On July 14-16, our Webelos will be attending resident camp at Fire Mountain Scout Reservation outside of Arlington. They will be shooting arrows and BB guns, swimming, boating, making crafts, hiking, going to campfires and everything else you thought only Boy Scouts did.  The cost is $85 per Scout and $45 per adult. The Bear and Webelos den leaders are coordinating this and need your applications and Class 1 Medical forms by the pack meeting on March 23rd.

Day Camp 2000 Theme is "Western Gold Rush"

Pack 18 will be attending Silver Lake II Day Camp from August 21-24th at Silver Lake Park in Everett.  We have over 30 boys registered and are rearin' to go to the finest camp this side of the Mississippi!
