Samantha's Babies
Day Ten - July 1, 2000

I actually hadn't planned on taking any pictures of the babies today because I'm so busy and I barely have enough time as it is, but when I was checking up on them today, I noticed how much color they've developed over the last 24 hours, I had to update their web site.  They are visibly white, rather than pink now.  Their fur is real fur, very tiny still, but fur nonetheless. They're moving around more than ever. As I pulled them out to look at each one, they really moved around a lot.

I've sexed them and I'd say I'm 95% sure of their sexes.  Here's what I've got:

The Girls

The Boys

If you're interested in any of them, now's a good time to claim the ones you like.  Their eyes should be opening sometime within the next 48 hours and within a couple days after that, they'll be running all over the place.  They'll officially be rats (instead of sightless seals, which is what they look like now)

What a good girl Samantha is too.  I really love animals and I enjoy watching nature take its course, as Samantha does everything just right.  And she is completely comfortable with me handling her babies.
