It turns what we have into enough, and more.
It turns denial into acceptance,
chaos to order, confusion to clarity.
It can turn a meal into a feast,
a house into a home,
a stranger into a friend.
Gratitude makes sense of our past,
brings peace for today,
and creates a vision for tomorrow."
~ Melody Beattie ~
What made us friend in the long ago
When we first met?
Well, I think I know;
The best in me and the best in you
Hailed each other because they knew
that always and always since life began,
Our being friends was part of Godís plan.
That I might say to you -
For all that you have meant to me,
For times you've seen me through.
You have given me so much
That I could not repay,
The joy, the peace, the strengthening light
To brighten up my day.
You've shown me just what it means
To trust in God above,
To rest my weary soul in Him,
To feel His gracious love.
You've helped me with each burden
That seemed so hard to bear,
You've taught me how to face each day,
You've guided me with care.
And if I may express my thoughts
That are known to God above,
To give you just a portion
Of the deepness of my love.
To let you know just how I feel,
Just what you mean to me,
To see the smile upon your face,
To enjoy your company.
And as the days grow shorter
When there's still so much to do,
I'd like to take this moment now
To say these words to you:
You'll never be forgotten,
You'll always walk with me,
I'll cherish all the love you gave
In each sweet memory.
I'll say a prayer of thanks to God
For sending you my way,
That He will bless your every step
To guide you every day.
And when new problems I must face,
Which I'll so often do,
I'll close my eyes and say a prayer -
Then I'll remember you.

is not the outstretched hand,
nor the kindly smile,
nor the joy of companionship;
it's the spiritual inspiration
that comes to one when he discovers
that someone else believes in him
and is willing to trust him with his friendship.
~Ralph Waldo Emerson~
the song in your heart
and can sing it back to you
when you have forgotten the words.
