PRESENT POST/CURRENT ACTIVITIES:
Based in Brighton, I've been active in the sceene collaborating with other artists & organizations. This year have been involved with several projects related with image, video / performance & sound - examples: Brighton Fringe Festival, ARTconcet.Russia, Photomonth.London and NODE.London a season that illustrates creative and experimental uses of communication media and technological innovation to express ideas and stimulate action in public realted to dance, sound, image, installation.
I've been working on a project "One Song, One City" [IN.VISIBLE BODY] - Where I deal with concepts of time/space/ body = presence/absence and communication. I'vee been travelling in geography and visiting locations where I perform without pre-anounce it but I do register it. This project started to gain form in 2004 as live-acts in different cities around the world. These Live-Acts are related with:[1] non-present body (who's the live-act might be dedicated).
[2] a song that is originally from another geography or interpreter / artist / band; sometimes in another language.
[3] a location related to the non-present body (absent).
[4] communication mediums : body , lyrics, song, city in a different perception / identity;
[5] space/time // travel /dual: analogies between numbers, dates, places, people, acts.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
My projects are creations in which dance movement, video, spoken word, plastic arts and new technology meet in new hybridised forms. I have worked as a creative and teacher for 17 years exploring the different concepts created by the physical body / bodies in relation to gender, identity, geography, time and place. My work is the distillation of these concepts to create new censorial experiences which envelope the participant. I use the body as a site of exploration, which when complemented by audio-visual ambiance create the whole. In addition my own pieces I have collaborated extensively with artists working in different fields, such as dance, photography, video, voice and music. My recent projects can be found as part of the digital performance archive kept by Nottingham Trent University and the University of Salford.
As choreographer I created a number of dance pieces presented in several festivals in Europe, and Unite States of America including Biennials, specially the dance pieces "From now on", 1996; "Minimally Invasive", 1998; "Contract with the Skin", 2000, "Around One", 2002 an "Salvo Conduto",2003 / 2005.

I participated in several International Artistic Residencies related with Dance and new technologies. I did several collaborations with artists in specific projects and teached in several workshops and schools. OTHER RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:
From 1993-2006 >> I worked with other organizations and companies both nationally and internationally as free lancer choreographer/ producer/artist/teacher and also as contracted as a free-lancer on specific duties covering aspects of time management, criteria meeting, recovery assistance and costumer service. In the UK I worked alongside with SHINKANSEN. In New York with Multi Arts Projects Production (MAPP) and Dance Theatre Workshop (DTW). In Lisbon with Dancas na Cidade Festival, Forum Danca, Clube Portugues de Artes e Ideias, C.E.M., Centa and Arte Total.
In 1995/96 I was involved with creative movement / process and presentaion; "PAIDEIA", a project of Clube Português Artes Ideias and Portuguese Ministry of Youth. This was a national project that took place in High Schools, Portugal.
From 1993 until now I've been related with production/ touring/ presentation/ creation/ dance teaching/ lectures. I worked / collaborated with several artists and institutions both National and International in specific artistic projects and festivals.

WHERE I THINK MY CAREER IS NOW AND WHERE YOU WOULD LIKE IT TO BE FOLLOWING IN THE CLOSE FUTURE: (Trying to display a commitment to connecting more strongly with society, widening their intellectual and emotional curiosity and developing their entrepreneurial skills.) I've been displaying a continuous and relevant contribute with my work with in a open, flexible and accurate approach.I would be keen to continue and explore how my work can reach both an audience and minor community. I would like to be able to see a link between my own work and the creation of new bridges with other artists / organizations / communities. Through some of my projects I've been relating with social and body / health awareness ; project "Hotel" and "I've given up smoking" - (see link 1) . Can be projects where i link traditional and moderns rituals related with body and identity and going to the detail of using my own blood as the envelop of the scenic space. The human body as a matter of experimentation, focusing on the communication between the organic and non-material body ,"From Now On" - (see link 2) or projects like "Minimally Invasive" (link 3) or "Contract with the Skin", (link 4) where the body is confronted and analysed in a perspective that integrate social and cultural pre-conceived forms of seeing and understanding the body socially. This is where I'm now.Over a period of 10 years I gained experience of working in schools and being with people of professional and non-professional backgrounds in dance. I was able to deliver some enthusiastic input / output from the student communities. Sometimes they were of mixed social backgrounds and this was the first time they were able to relate with the field of movement / dance, engaging in the creative process to discover new ways of observing themselves and their peers. This creative process requires both mental and physical engagement and this reveals the self (personality / culture / interests / desires / repulsion) enveloped with a sense of presence and materialized in an "art" form - dance piece - a collaborative creation where all levels of input can be adopted and personalized giving them back a sense of transformation / continuity / preservation / creation and self. In the workshops, residencies and art related events I'm interested in: . gain a deeper understanding of collaborative processes and the exchanging of skills .have extensive opportunities to network and make contacts both nationally and internationally, local and small communities and big audiences. . engage on a long term process, this will be a more effective and sustainable learning and sharing experience than a one-off commitment. . give a sustained connection with other projects that might have common interests . I can now only say that it is of a great importance at this period in contemporary society & politics where I 'm eager to continue a inspired work and make efforts to link with diversity, having the integrity and the tools appropriated to develop in reach wider public and bring awareness into society through art form - Dance/ performance/ image/ concepts.
