TAFFY'S MEMORIAL PAGE

Since the family decided when the daughter went off to college, that Taffy needed a new home. I was approached when the mom came into our store to asked if anyone could take her. Well since we had two bunnies already, was not sure if we could take in another one, so I told her to just bring her here and I would try to come up with some elabrate story to tell the WHRS of what happened to this bunny,, however. after Taffy arrived at the store, I fell in love with her, so sweet, so soft, just like a velvet toy. SO I had decided right then and there I was going to keep her. Went to hubby and said that IF I could not find her a home we would keep her, but I knew I was not going to try. Low and behold Taffy was our store bunny. She had quite a time getting used to her new surroundings, and really was not a happy bunny, really did not enjoy being picked up, not even being petted, would run away from me. It took like almost two years for her to get used to us and trust us. Seems she as either teased or tormented and did not like people in general. After a long process of laying on the floor with her and gaining her trust, she settled down and became my friendliest bunny. Loved to climb all over me when I was on the floor with her, she would groom my hair, give me back massages by walking up and down my back. Just the way you want a pet to be.

Taffy lived over 10.5 years and was suffering from sinus infections and needed front teeth trimming every three weeks. After months of trying to treat the infections it had developed as cancer in her lungs that would have over come her and took her life. Even tho she started out quite defensive, I would have not changed a thing and would have taken her again in a minute. Sure do miss you my little Taffers.
