Project Philosophy

Thank you for visiting my web page.

During my three years of service in the US Peace Corps, I was exposed to a different culture, a completely different way of life. This project was designed in an effort to share the knowledge and insight gained from my experiences in Ghana, West Africa.

The diversity of the worlds many cultures its one of its greatest strengths. Typically, negative stereotypes have warped and weakened our understanding of different cultures in the past. If global interdependence is to be a reality we must learn to respect people who are different from ourselves. As communication systems grow, the ability of today’s students to function in a growing global community depends on their understanding and appreciation of other cultures.

The objectives of this project are as follows:

- To provide students of the US with a view of life in different cultures with an emphasis on Ghana and my own Peace Corps Experiences.

- Inspire a respect, understanding and appreciation for differences among the many peoples of the world.

- Give students a living Geography lesson, an expanded view of the world, and to reinforce the values of volunteerism and community service.

Thank you.

Yours in Peace.
