I have been unable to find a definitive answer anywhere on Sanyo's site to indicate what the bulb life is. However, Projector Central rates it as 1000 hours. I do not know if this is accurate. I suspect it may not be, because on their page they list the bulb as being a type 120W UHP, whereas Sanyo lists it as 132W UHP.
This extremely useful bit of information was not included in the manual (who knows why). Thankfully, another XW15 user Kurt Edelbach found the information for us:
To display the age of the bulb you have to press and hold the "up" arrow on the unit for ~20 seconds.
Note: You must press the "up" point button on the unit itself -- you cannot do it from the remote.
You can try using this projection calculator provided by Projector Central. I have not personally verified its accuracy yet.
