Charlie was the first of the giant pop singer to come out of South Philadelphia. Charlie had a #1 song in 1957 with "Butterfly", followed up with "Ninety Nine Ways", and "Fabulous". Charlie is one of the few singers that continued recording only Rock-A-Billy Music. Today Charlie lives in Drexel Hills, Pa.
A native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Jimmy became a pop music icon. He had four major hits on the Ace label from 1958 to 1962. They were "Just A Dream" (58), "My Own True Love", (59), "Go, Jimmy Go", (59) and his last major hit was "Venus In Blue Dreams" in 1962. Jimmy and his wife Roxanne live in the Houston, Texas area.
Carl Gardner was the original lead singer of the Coasters, one of the most successful groups of the fifties. "Their first hit as the Coasters was "Down In Mexico"(56), that was followed on the charts with, "Searchin'", and "Young Blood"(both in 1958). Their next hits were, "Yakety Yak" (58), "Charlie Brown"(59), "Along Came Jones"(59), "Poison Ivy"(59). Today Carl and his wife Veeta live in Florida.

Bobby Wayne

This Spokane, Washington native was one of the pioneers of early Rock-A-Billy. Bobby's first recording was Sally Ann/Warpaint on S.R.C. records. His next smash recording was "Tiptoes", which reached # 3 on the Country charts and # 7 on the Pop charts. Bobby & his wife still reside in the state of Washington. Bobby was voted was one of the three top guitarists in music, along with Roy Clark and Glen Campbell. Bobby still actively tours today.
All the original members of the Cascades served together in the US Navy. John Gummoe, a native San Diego, California, still resides there to this day. John was the original lead singer and wrote one of the great ballads in Rock & Roll, that song being, "Rhythm of the Rain" in 1963. Their next hit was another John Gummoe penned tune titled "The Last Leaf".
Al was one of the premier guitarists of the 50's and 60's. He was the back up on Duane Eddy's recordings on his Jamie Records hits. He was also a major guitarist for the Reprise Record Company. He performed all of the guitar on Nancy Sinatra's many hits. Al's biggest solo hit was "Surfin' Hootenanny" in 1962. Al and his family still reside in Phoenix, Arizona.
