TRINIDAD & TOBAGO:
This year marks the ninth anniversary of T&T PRIDE Celebrations.
Throughout Pride Week there are a number of Social and Educational
events leading up to the PRIDE Party. For the first time a PRIDE
Committee was established of volunteered individuals to develop and
manage its programme. All events are held at Bohemia - #33 Murray St,
Woodbrook, with the exception of the PRIDE Party:
T&T PRIDE DIARY OF EVENTS
29th Sunday June:
T&T PRIDE Memorial and Achievement Awards - honours
individuals in the community, who have deceased from HIV/AIDS and
serves as a `call into action' for the living. Featured are the T&T
Quilt Panels and T&T MSM: Photo Memorial Wall. Candles and special
Red Ribbons will be available for the public. In addition Medals and
Certificates will be presented to honoured GLBT individuals for their
achievements that support their community. Time: 06.00 pm till.

30th Monday June:
Movie Night featuring Phillip Pike's "Songs of
Freedom" a film documenting the GLBT Community of Jamaica, with an
original score composed by Toronto musician Quammie. Hosted by DENI.
Time: 07.00 pm till. ADMISSION: FREE
1st Tuesday July:
Homosexuality & Its Phobia: Gay Bashing Internal
And External - a discussion addressing attitudes and behaviours which
encourage violence against and within the GLBT community, facilitated
by Steve Carter. Time: 07.00 09.00 pm. ADMISSION: FREE
2nd Wednesday July:
Legislature a discussion concerning the legal
rights of homosexuals in Trinidad and Tobago, facilitated by PD.
Time: 07.00 09.00 pm. ADMISSION: FREE
3rd Thursday July:
HIV/AIDS Treatment & Medication / Mobilisation of
the GLBT Community of Barbados - Dr. Amery Browne presents current
information as to the procedures and guidelines concerning HIV/AIDS
treatment, medication and home care. Didi Winston Chairman of
UGLAAB addresses the different methodologies and approaches their
organisation has developed to support the GLBT community in Barbados.

4th Friday July:
Bhat Night features performances by some of
Trinidad's leading Gender Illusionists. Highlighting this event is
the fabulous Didi Winston, (Mannequins in Motion) who professionally
performs at featured night clubs in Barbados. Hosted by Hayden Brown
and Eswick Padmore. Time: 08.00 pm - till. ADMISSION: FREE
5th Saturday July:
PRIDE Party 03 The rainbow flags fly high at
this annual celebration is noted as one of the best parties of the
year. Be Proud, be there. This year it is held at Chaconia Inn,
Maraval. Hosted by Steve Carter and Hayden Brown.
Time: 11.00 pm till. ADMISSION: TT$40. @ the door.
