Poppies hotel is in an excellent
location for exploring the Callander and Trossachs area. Only a 25
minutes drive from the battlefields at Bannockburn and Stirling bridge, those wishing to pursue the footsteps of Braveheart, William Wallace, or King Robert the Bruce will be greatly rewarded.
Clan heritage is prominent in this area with Buchanan, McLaren and, arguably, the most famous local name name belonging to that of the great outlaw Rob Roy McGregor. You can trace your clan genealogy at West Register house in Scotland's ancient capital, Edinburgh, only an hours drive from the hotel.
Other attractions within an hours drive from our hotel is the famous Stirling castle, Wallace Monument, the Blair Drummond Safari Park, and for the whiskey lovers there are distilleries at Deanston, Glenturret, Glengoyne and Dewers.

Hillwalking and cycling are also very
