In 1959, a Swedish musician and singer named Friedrich Jurgenson was out recording bird songs on a tape recorder. When Jurgenson arrived home and decided to listen to his tapes, much to his astonishment he heard a man's voice talking about bird songs--in Swedish. Jurgenson made many recordings and heard human voices in the background when he replayed the tapes of his bird songs. Dr. Konstantin Raudive, a Latvian psychologist, studied the phenomenon and made many, many tape recordings of human voices, some speaking clearly and some unintelligibly. Some of the voices claimed to be deceased relatives of Raudive. Dr. Raudive wrote a book about this extraordinary voice phenomenon entitled "Breakthrough".
