Is it just me or has the human race lost its collective, freaking mind?
Go into any crowd of people, close your eyes and then open them. The person they see first is more often than not a victim.
Victim of what? You may ask. Well anything really. Could be their race, gender, religious preference, sexual orientation or a combination of all of those things. But what was been done to them? You may ask more pointedly. Nothing, would be my reply.
Sure there are murders and rapes and all kinds of bad things that happen to people that make them victims, it is not of these things I speak, but of the mentality of professional victims. It is a way of life for increasing numbers of humans.
Case in point; I was watching the dummy box the other night. I briefly caught a piece of a show where two women were arguing. The first woman called the other 'emotionally unstable', whereby the second woman remarked 'that's like the pot calling the kettle black'. Wrong thing to say, apparently, in this group. Let me break this out one piece at a time.
The saying 'that's like the pot calling the kettle black' is a very old saying. It means 'You've no real cause to say these things to me because you fit into the same category' or more simply 'look in the mirror, you're no different'. But the part about the pot and the kettle comes from way back in history, probably when the western U.S. was first being settled, and people cooked with cast iron pots and pans. The tea kettle was black, the dutch oven cooking pot was black and so the analogy was formed 'pot calling kettle black'. Simple right?
Well not so simple, because the woman who said that was white and the woman it was said to was of african-american descent. What was her reply? She pulled the 'race card' and told the woman she should not be using racial slurs.
Excuse me? Racial slurs? This woman allows her heritage to get in the way of common sense and good judgement. She has spent so much time with her head buried up her ass and behind her race, judging everything people say to see if it could be mis-construed as racist that she's totally lost her mind.
Just because I might use the word black in the company of an african-american does not mean I am slamming their race.
This victim mentality and dumbing down of our population will only hasten the revolution that is coming in our world.
We have children taking guns to school and killing their peers, because the world is so screwed up they believe this is the only way to take care of problems. Why do they do this? Because they are trained from early years to toe the line, to achieve the status quo, and if they don't live up to these ridiculous standards they are somehow tainted, bad and therefore can never be productive citizens of society.
Hey if I was a teen right now, and I was labeled as an outcast and the teachings of my mother or father were such that anyone different cannot be a part of society, then maybe I'd feel I had no choice but to strike back a little myself.
Are these acts their responsibility? Of course, but I also think their parents should also be put on trial for trying to make robots out of their children.
Tell a woman at work she looks nice and find yourself, not only in the unemployment line, but also in federal court, facing sexual harrasment charges. So much for free speech and freedom of expression.
Pull a little too close to that BMW in front of you at the stop light, and the guy driving it hops out ready to kick your ass, then in court is wearing a c-collar wanting you to pay him big money for his injuries.
Who is responsible? We all are. Whether it is in the kitchen fighting over the last chicken leg, or in the courtroom over any number of 'injustices'. We all played a part in getting it here. We all are responsible for getting us out of this mess as well.
Sure you can throw a towel over your head and pretend there's nothing wrong with our world, and I can assure you when the revolution comes, it will be the apathetic people of the world who are lined up against the wall first. Because if you don't care, if you do not see the troubles and work to correct them, then you are the ones who are of no use to society and will be taken out and summarily tossed out like yesterday's news.
How do we stop it? We first learn to take responsibility for our own actions. To hell with what your neighbor has done, what have you done?
When we begin to retract the accusing finger we see that we ourselves are not perfect. We then are able to see others as their own unique selves and not as less than equals. We start to become more friendly and soon we realize we have a mission in life and it is not to make other lives miserable.
Open your eyes world, wake up and quit blaming everything on someone else, it is your life, you are the only one who can fuck it up. Quit being a victim and crawl out of your box.
