Alison MacInnis Interview
From: IN Power Magazine, July 2000
Alison MacInnis is tickled pink. The 19-year-old's got a great job playing Dana Mitchell, the Pink Ranger, in Saban's hit Fox Kids TV Show, Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue. She's living out her dream of becoming an actress and learning about Martial Arts.
Off set, Alison loves to hang out with her fellow cast mates, and when she's home in Orange County, California, she likes to read, write poetry, and paint. IN Power was able to catch her there one day between shoots for a fun conversation.
Does pink happen to be your favorite color?
Of course! My first car was a hot pink Volvo station wagon.
Who's your favorite Power Ranger?
I think the Blue Ranger, played by Michael [Chaturantabut], is pretty cool. Michael is so the martial artist!
Do you preform any of the stunts on the show yourself?
Sometimes they let us fight. It's the most exhilarating feeling to be able to kick down a bad guy and watch him fly across the stage.
What's your favorite cartoon?
I used to watch Smurfs and Rainbow Brite all the time. Nowadays, I still love Scooby Doo!
What's your favorite movie of all time?
Empire Records, with Liv Tyler.
What's the coolest show on TV right now?
Buffy the Vampire Slayer, definitely.
What CD is currently in your stereo?
Enrique Iglesias's Enrique, I'm just getting into the Latin craze.
What's your favorite video game?
I used to have one of those old-school Nintendo sets. I loved the Duck Tales game.
If you could eat only one snack food for the rest of the year, what would it be?
Dots. I love Dots!
What do you do for fun?
Mostly, I stay at home with my Dachshund, Fritzi, or go to the mall with friends. I love to shop.
If you had to spend $100 right now, what would you buy?
Clothes, of course!
