Welcome to my Song Page
This is the location of my brand new song archive. Now most of these songs are old. I learned them mostly from my aunt, who's a professor of sociology and collects folklore, songs, and other tidbits of culture. Included will be the songs with a short blurb. The songs have even been organized for your convience!
Enjoy!

- The Ballad of Madegroves:
This old English ballad is one the first I had learned and still is one of my favorites. The storyline is rather interesting and much can be done with it. I am currently writing a three act play based on it. One interesting fact is that there are four different versions of the song, each one with Lady Arlinn being killed in a different manner.
- Sir Hugh the Graeme:
This is a Scottish ballad, I believe. It relates the story of Hugh the Graeme, head of the Graeme clan. This incident sparked a clan war in Scotland, I believe.
- The Ballad of Geordie Gordon:
See? It's not my fault I'm a trouble maker... take a look at my ancestors.
- The Wind That Shakes The Barley:
A truly beautiful song. First time I heard it, I cried. Dead Can Dance does a truly beautiful rendition of it on "Into the Lanyrinth" and "Towards the Within". I recommend it.
- Baron's Heir:
A rather beautidul little love song. Always a favorite of mine.
- Westron Wind:
This song goes out to all of those who know what it's like to have you're true love too far away.
- Oh My Heart:
Another sad, depressing little love song... I need to find some happy stuff...
:
- Back and Side:
Fitting that the oldest recorded song in English is a drinking song about wandering around town drunk of your ass and nude. This hails back from 1050, I think. Something like that.
- Three Jolly Coachmen:
You remember "Bingo"? This is the original song to which "Bingo" was set to the tune of.
- Fie, Man, Fie:
A good old drinking song that can easily be sung by large groups of drunk people. For those of you whom are interested, "fie" is an old english term for a lie or exageration. Kinda like "bull" nowadays.
- Whiskey in the Jar:
The first person to even mention that Metallica covered this song will be summarily executed by an unholy swarm of demonic attack gerbils.
- The Mouse on the Barroom Floor:
I laughed. I cried.
- Black Velvet Band:
This song carries a very good moral.
:
- High Barbary:
Ahh... a song of murder on the high seas....
- Keeper of the Eddystone Light:
A nice little poem that can be converted into a song if you want to...
- Henry Martin:
Another Scottish song. This one about a nice Scottish boy... who becomes a blood thirsty pirate.
- Song of the Sea:
My aunt used to sing this to me as a lullaby when I was a wee one. And it still ranks as one of the best lullabyes for soothing people to sleep.
