Went to Costco yesterday and got some groceries and a new TV.  Our TV was doing the black line and spitting at us routine.  We also got a (gulp) Playstation.  We had wanted so bad to get one for Christmas and didn't have the money to spare at the time.  Since this was a hunka hunka tax return we splurged, but just a little.  What good is life and tax returns if you can't splurge a little.

We also went to the mall.  We got Ana some new earrings and found out that the reason her ears were rejecting all other earring besides the studs she got pierced in.  All other earring have some amount of nickel in them, even the 14 carat gold ones.  So we got a card of new earrings from a line called Sensitive Solutions.  So far they are really doing well.  Her ears haven't swelled even once and they look like they are really healing.

Did nothing all day.  Caught up some on my newsgroups and online diaries.  Got out of going on errands today by saying Ana gets cranky if she misses her naptime, and boy does she.

Finally went out to mail some letters and get stamps.  Swung by Mom's house and everybody was there: Mom, Mommy and Daddy, Deb and two of her boys (Frank is staying at Gwen's to help her recupe after her surgery).  They said our cousin Eve is swinging through town on her way to San Diego to pick up her hubby from the naval base.  She lives in Eugene (after years more or less by herself while hubby is at sea she said no more and moved back to Eugene to be near family). I invited myself to stay for dinner (bad me!) and Wayne went to his sister's to fiddle with her computer.  Eve made it in about 7:30pm.  She had left that morning and had only stopped once between there and here (510 miles).  Anyway, cool to see her.  Her hubby might even be allowed to retire this year (21 years).  He was supposed to retire a couple years ago, but it didn't happen.  He is an important man to them.

**Useless Bluebird fact** My favorite myths are the one about Cupid and his wife Psyche, and the one about the death of Pan.  Jason was told (I don't remember by who) to pass on the information of Pan's death.  As he passed villages on his travels down ? river he yelled the news out, and as they villagers heard "there arose such a wailing" that all else was drown out.  It touches me that a god who was basically regarded and one who tricks and ravishes would still be that loved and that missed on his death.
