I decided to buy this release based upon a recommendation from a friend. I had never heard the Ultra Milkmaids or Celluloid Mata previously, so I really had no idea what to expect - I was very pleasantly surprised.
Coming in a sleek, colorful sleeve, this 10" record struck me as being uncharacteristic for Ant-Zen. However, Ant-Zen's all about experimentation, so, who knows. Anyway, if I had to compare this to something, I'd say it sounded reminiscent of Richard D. James' (Aphex Twin) work on Selected Ambient Works II; lush, organic ambient, with chimes and beautiful melodies.
Only four tracks long, it's a rather short record, but all tracks are equally gorgeous. Sometimes you detect wafting percussion, but it mostly focuses on the beautiful melodies which chime in and out. The second track roum is especially beautiful, and evokes a myriad of emotions and feelings.
