Since the winter of 1998 we have been conducting research on the pedigrees of our whippets Renko Di Mahana and L'Entente Cordiale Xtraxian. This website is the result of this reseach.
Renko's bloodlines go via a short trip in France to the United Kingdom and to The Netherlands. His 15G grandfather is UK Ch. Zuber, born in 1889, the first Whippet to become a champion.
Unfortunately, we cannot trace the complete history of Xian. His mother was bought by Xian's breeder, Miss Lizzie Gill, from a family that was not treating Xian's mother very well. So we have no way to trace the grandparents of Xian on mother's side.
Xian's father is French, within a few generations tracing back to the United Kingdom. Many famous names, UK Ch. Laguna Ligonier to name one, are found in his pedigree. Therefore, we can go from Xian to Zuber as well.
Recently we bought Moonlake Making Sure and added his pedigree to our database. His pedigree is remarkable, because in only a few generations all famous English Whippets of the sixties and seventies appear as his ancestors.
We hope that someone will find this usefull. This is our reason for setting up this website. We used Leisterpro's Reunion software on Mac OS to gather all the information. The only drawback is that the dogs name's are not always shown as they should. Ch. Laguna Ligonier is shown as Ch. Ligonier Laguna.
At the moment we have approximately 12.000 whippet names in our database. The number is rapidly growing as we have all the Dutch whippet pedigrees from 1929 till 1996, and we only have entered them till 1971.
For dogs with a prefix kennel name, the kennel name is placed behind the name within braces. This is caused by the way we enter the names in our database.
