Well, what can I say to that?

I sure can not say and talk more about this subject than any other, who follow the V's over the years.
THe V's. Valensia and Robbie Valentine. So many mails passed my eyes the past days, that I get my disformation and think that the entire world knows who they are.
And it isn't.
Hey, that's the great item, just telling my story and make the talented dutch guys a littlebit more known than they are until now.

My intrest in V started years ago, of course, like many, with the single of Robbie Valentine, over and over again. You know how it goes, you buy an album and find that it is great music. In my eyes it is pretty rare, my first reaction was gee this can't be Dutch... It was Dutch like Gouda cheese... And what a coincidence, Robbie appeared to be a huge Queen fan as well. He made a wonderful tribute, when Freddie died and that time I shall not easy forget.

Some years later Robbie discovered the talented guy Valensia. Long time there was a glow of mystic over him, for who was Valensia?
More than the hitsingle Gaya, what some people in Holland do remember, didn't came known among a wide audience. It's ashame. His music is romantic, can not easily be placed, I always say that it is a mixture of Kate Bush and some other groups that sing alike.
They're very popular in Japan, and that is strange, that Dutch talents are so undervalued in their own country and 5000 miles away their popularity is that high that they release albums first in japan and later, when we are lucky, there might be a copy for Holland indeed.
So, in a nutshell, being "in" for good music I first discovered Robbie Valentine, than found his passin for Queen and

TADAAAAA!!!!

In the V-mailing list was already for a long time a discussion going on in arranging a meeting with Valensia and Valentine. Until today there were no successful dates, and since there now was sure that they SHOULD appear at a place, and the knowledge that at least Valensia KNEW that some of us should come to see them made, at the end, around 35 people coming along and waving at the guys at the airport, just before they did fly to Tokyo.

And yeah, I thought and expected it, some Queen signs as well. And when you see Queen, Freddie should be around as well.. :-)
