December 5: Sinterklaas

In November the children in Holland get all excited, for Sinterklaas is coming to Holland!

It is the friend of the children, a very respectable old man, with a blank white beard, a bisshop from Spain.
He arrives with the steam-boat all the way from spain.
the boat is a special one.. It carries the horse of Sinterklaas, but also his assistants, zwarte pieten (black peters).
They are needed to bring around the other things on board of the ship.. what is Presents!
Because of the tradition, Sinterklaas brings the kids presents the night before his birthday, December 6th....

**December 5**Sinterklaas: at his respectable age sinterklaas is even at the internet!

**December 31: Sylvester**

December 31st. Holland gathers with friends..
Playing games, for example scrabble, watiching the shows at tele.. and eating the home made Oliebollen
, that are baked in the morning and what is considered to be eaten warm with a lot of powder sugar on it!
