July 14th, in the middle of a typical Dutch summer, Miracle did perform at an open air concert in Nijmegen. This time more or less at the home ground of Rudi, instaad of like all the other times in the wild wild west of the country...
Here some comments, probably it get spiced up soon, but for now we have to do with the text only. But still.. enjoy...
Satur(n) day night
Yeah,
What about it..
Watch out, time for some words about a Miracle concert :D
I am not totally sure, but I think that on this Saturday evening
Miracle had the most large audience that is not entirely affected
with Queen, ever.
It was nice to see the people, who of course sang along with the
singalong songs.. Did Miracle act a bit with that with having a play
list of only the most best known Queen songs??
It was great to see people as amazed as that I (and most of us)
were the first time we saw Miracle.. The reactions did realize me
again about the unique thing that Miracle is putting on stage. A
thing that you easy forget, when you see them regurarily playing..
Good, no misunderstandings, they really made new fans and I
think that this kind of meetings, for a reasonable large audience,
out of the Queen scene, sure gives Miracle the credits they earn..
it is about time!
Hmm, I shall not be me to add not only that adoration, won't I?
Who should take my message serious if it was only hallelujah? :)
At the start of the session, we, as standing in the front rows, were
a bit worried about the sound. The sound was carried more
backwards, so there was the choice, to be close and hear not all
the guys as good as you should, or going backwards where the
sound was much better. A bit ashame, but well, when you are with
technique dependend on the organisation you can't blame the
group for it..
After a couple of songs I realized that there was more audience
than just the first row, where the familiar faces are always settled. I
think that when you speak about a miracle performance you are
not talking about the 4 musicians and their family, but also a
handfull of diehards who belong to the equipment as the guitars
and the drumkit..
It was amazing to hear OTHER people singing along with the
songs. It sure showed that the average audience did love what they
saw.. (and did drink plenty!!)..
Nothing new for us, wasn't it?
Miracle had some very pleasant surprises. One was the more or
less spontaneous sang of Saturdaynight.. I almost thougth I was
listening to the first Dutch Herman Brood Coverband.. ...
The second surprise was the song that made Johnnie a hard life..
It's a hard life, so fresh that John had to watch the text during the
singing.
I must repeat words that I made before, that I admire Miracle very
much having guts to not only do the easy Queen songs.
They proved that with songs like Somebody to love and Bohemian
Rhapsody, but also with this it's a hard life.
The range of tones that Freddie could produce was amazing, and
for singing this song, in public, it sure needs guts and faith in your
group that you are dong a damn good shot!
.. nothing new for us, isn't it?....
I think that Miracle did do a good gig, good quality and that the
main advantage of this concert is the fact that they were able to
show a bit more than the Queen circle about what they are worth.
I look forward to next time, next surprise and next meeting of the
group that is sounding sooo familiar in my ears... Just like I heared
that music before!
Thanks guys. for another rememerable night in the spirit of Queen..

Thanks for your comment, Hans. Very much appriciated.
But........... 4 musicians????????? *scratches head*
And about the sound not being that good.....
Well, first off all I think I can say that they were one of
the best P.A.'s we've had so far. But they were restricted.
They couldn't push the sound "into your face", as they say!
Second, it's outside and the combination with a limiter makes
it that the sound doesn't "carry". It will be blown away by the
wind at some point. While it should blow the audience away,
but it wasn't the sound systems or technicians fault.
They already gotten their first official warning last night by the
municipality because they measured the amount of decibels and it
was far too high.
Can you imagine? Far too high!! God, it should have been twice as hard.
Especially with Queen music.
When we were playing the organization got so enthousiastic that they
asked for the volume to be turned up with the consequence to get a warning.
And they did..... too bad that the municipality of Nijmegen are so
narrow minded.
Geez, it's a party and it's wasn't even after midnight!!
No wonder they can't compete with the cities on this site of the
country.
:-P
All in all, we're very proud of last night and for making our loyal fans
happy.
When we first started we didn't have high hopes, because the square was
almost empty.
But after the first songs it was packed..... feels sooooooo good!!!
Singer/Johnnie :-P
"Doing nothing.....just hang around......what do you mean doing nothing? So we had to hit him to the ground!!"

Hehe, my counting is as bad as my technical knowledge, can't even
count to 5 anymore! :)
Sorry guys, I think I should have known better, I think I was mixing you up with another group that I adore. :)
Well, a warning is a thing that you can risk, sure when it comes to Miracle sound, I cannot see what is wrong in that! :)
Should be nice when you can return next year there, it sure is good for the image of the band. We Queen fans know already what you can, it's the rest of the world that should be miracled now. :):)
And you have reason to be proud. It is easy to make your fans happy (even ME!!!), but it tells me much more when there are MORE people enjoying it..
Reactions like.. wow.. this is almost Queen!! ..
Uhm, are that good comments?
I guess so,
hehe, especially the word almost!@ :))

Hi Miracle Workers,
To start with the notion that this was again brilliant, marvelous and so on....performance together with ....an admirable show which really is one of the best ones ever from Miracle, I don't need to say more...
Since Mr. Saturn already wrote an accurate and vivid summary and I can really live with his few criticle notes, I would only add to his comments a few things worthwhile to mention here:
You all had such a elaborate and probably well planned eye for details and show, I cannot be complete here but I will say: Johnnie's costume, Freddie's tailer could have made it for him! The glamour, the smoke, and the excellent lights. The often subtle interaction of the group during and between songs! The although expected simultaneous bells in Bicycle Race, the tambourines in Seven seas....those tiny things make such a difference!
This really promises something for Birmingham,
Maybe, some songs I personally would love to hear, not the easiest ones I know, "Lazing on a sunday afternoon, '39, Lap of the Gods I & II."
greetings, Andor
Miracle, I really enjoyed it, this weekend.
