Regarding your recent letter about our policy here in Clearfield County on Adoption Information. All information is strictly confidential. A court Order must be acquired for Adoption information. The Judge will sign a Court Order only if there is good reason to do so. We never charge for filing a Court Order nor do we charge for any copies; it is merely a courtesy of this office. If the birth parent or child wishes to file something here in order to let the other know who they are or where they are, we will place their letter in with our indices. If we would receive requests from both parents and child, we would then refer it to our President Judge. I have enclosed a letter from another adoption searcher in PA.
