Places of Interest
The Central region has many places of interest, for example:
1. Beung Boraped Lake, Nakhorn Sawan Province
The biggest freshwater lake in the country, it is
a fine source of freshwater fish.
2. Wat Traimitr Witayaram, Bangkok
The temple has the world's most valuable object,
a golden statue of Buddha.
3. Vimanmek palace, Bangkok
The largest teak house in the world, it is now a
museum, housing objects owned by King Chulachomklao, who once lived here.
It also houses a horse carriage museum.
4. Samutprakan crocodile farm, Samutprakan Province
The biggest crocodile farm in the world, the farm
breeds crocodiles for skin to make into various products.
5. Buddha's footprint, Saraburi Province
This religious place is also a great place for relaxing.
6. Donchedi Royal Monument, Suphan Buri Province
The monument commemorates King Narai's victory over
the king of the Burmese.
7. Sukhothai historical park, Sukhothai Province
Once the capital of Thailand from 1238 to 1350 and
the capital of a dominion of Thailand from 1250 to 1438, Sukhothai has
various historical monuments, for example, temples and palaces.
8. Various places in Ayuthaya Province
Ayuthaya was the capital of Thailand from 1350 to
1767. Various historical monuments survived Burmese invasions.
