A Historic Victorian Christmas at the Ford-Faesch House

October "Hessian Session"

Fact and fiction re-enactments of the Hessian prisoners in Mount Hope, 1782 - 83.


Colonial figures recount the story on the Faesch House grounds with the assistance of the audience. Hessian prisoners and the audience experience:

  • The capture of the Hessians.
  • Conditions at Mt. Hope and escape attempts.
  • The famous March 7, 1783 confrontation with American soldiers.
  • The saga of their release.
  • The truth about the prisoner chambers in the basement.
