Split Rock Furnace

This furnace was constructed during the Civil War by Andrew B. Cobb. It was the last of its kind built in Morris County, and represents the end of the era of charcoal furnaces.

The furnace has been declared a historical site and is listed on the State and National Registers of Historical Sites. The property is now owned by the Jersey City Water Department.
