1999 Santana 20 Class Championship

September 7-11, 1999

Casper Boat Club - Alcova, Wyoming

 

INVITATION

You are cordially invited to the 1999 Santana 20 Class Championship Regatta to be held September 7-11, 1999 on Alcova Reservoir in Wyorning. The reservoir is located approximately 30 miles southwest of Casper, Wyoming. The planned seven-race regatta for the Santana 20 Class sloops will be hosted by the Casper Boat Club and Santana 20 Fleet 28. This regatta is open to all sailors who belong to the Santana 20 Class Association, who have sailed the necessary qualifying regattas as required in Article LY of the Articles of Association of the Santana 20 Class, and who file proper entry including full payment of the entry fee by noon on Tuesday, September 7, 1999.

 

ENTRY FEE AND DEADLINE

A completed registration form accompanied by a check in the amount of $95.00 made payable to Rocky Mountain Santana 20 Fleet 28 must be mailed to: Scott Newcomb, 491 Rangeview Trail Golden, Colorado, 80401 by August 15,1999. Entries postmarked after this date must include a $15.00 late fee. Skippers will be required to show proof of 1999 Santana 20 Class Association membership at check-in. All registration fees are payable prior to 1200, Tuesday, September 7, 1999.

 

RULES

This regatta will be governed by the 1997-2000 edition of the International Sailing Federation (ISAF) Racing Rules of Sailing, the prescriptions of US Sailing, the rules of the Santana 20 Class Association as put forth in the 1999 Yearbook, this Notice of Race, and the Sailing Instructions. The Sailing Instructions will be distributed to entrants at the regatta.

An appointed Jury will have final authority on all matters. The same crew and the same four class sails must be used the entire regatta. There can be substitutions only with the approval of the Jury. Yachts may not be removed from the water during the regatta without approval of the Jury.

 

RACING

The Santana 20 Class Championships wll consist of as many as seven races. All races will count. Three races constitute a Championship, as prescribed in the Guidelines for Conducting the Class Championship Regattas. The Low-Point Scoring System described in Appendix A2 of the RRS will be used. Races will be sailed on windward-leeward courses or variations thereof.

 

AWARDS

First through fifth places in the final standings will receive awards.

 

INSPECTION AND MEASUREMENT

All participants must posses a valid measurement certificate for their Santana 20. Participants are also encouraged to have their sails measured and certified by their fleet measurer before this event. All sails must be measured prior to 1200 on Tuesday, September 7, 1999. Any Santana Class Association member who is not a member of a recognized fleet may obtain a measurement certificate for their Santana 20 at the regatta

 

FACILITIES

The Casper Boat Club is located on private grounds with: Restaurant and Bar, Docks, Slips, Ramp launch, Crane launch, Swimming, Camping areas, Showers and RV Parking. Hotel accommodations can be found in Casper, WY (about 30 minutes away).

After races, complimentary refreshments and Annual meeting of the Santana Class

Friday, September 10, 1999

1000 Warning signal for first race of the day

Races to follow at the discretion of the race committee

After races, complimentary refreshments and Awards Presentation (if the regatta is complete)

Saturday, September 11, 1999

1000 Warning signal for first race of the day (if the regatta is not complete)

No race will begin after 1500 on Saturday
