I have been riding Calle since January 1999. He is now 9 years old. Calle was born 25.8.1991. I really don't think it's wise to take an old stallion that hasn't been ridden or driven for 5 years and just saddle him .... Which is what I did. The first times were a bit rough, but by now we have both adjusted... When we first met in December I could never have thought that he could become as nice to handle as he has. He behaves much more stallion-like than Ami, but is underneath all that fuss a very gentle horse. He has become a pleasure to ride. I hope he will become a pleasure to drive too. Calle is an example of what one can do with love and understanding. And patience. I drove Calle on Sunday, ( 19.9.99, my first time driving him ) he hadn't been driven since January. He took off at full gallop- Jorma his owner fell off the cart- I just managed to calm him down and walk. On Monday all went well, we walked for about 40 minutes and he was quite OK with it. It's awfully difficult to start with a horse this old- and try to make him forget all the bad things that happened to him years ago. I think we shall make it- Calle and I. Calle was gelded 5.11.1999 it will be easier to train him now. He is recovering nicely, I walk him everyday for an hour or so.Calle is owned by Jorma. June 2000: Calle has really calmed down and is a pleasure to drive these days.       Pedigree for
