A Conversation with Sean Patrick Flanery 2001 Acceptable Risk Press Kit
Q: How would you describe this movie?
A: It's a psychological thriller with a scientific background. It's very real, though, because it's all explainable. It's a good, fast-paced, scary tale.
Q: Describe your character Bobby.
A: He's a scientist, and every scientist I've ever met is so isolated in the lab that they pretty much explode once they get out. They're introverts by day and extroverts by night. Bobby is sort of like that.
Q: Do you think that things that happen in this movie could actually happen?
A: Absolutely. There are millions of mold spores out there that science has not really been able to test yet. This movie shows that could happen if a particular type of spore has a remarkable, yet in the end, potentially deadly effect.
Q: You get to go a little crazy in this movie?
A: My character overdoes it a bit with the new mold spores. It's a wonder drug. It increases your energy, your mental prowess, your concentration. But it has really bad side effects that show that we're all just a hair away from dementia and insanity.
Q: What do you think about making a thriller?
A: I think people want their emotions to be punctuated. They want to be moved, a lot of times, movies do it in different ways. This movie does it by thrilling the audience. There's a lot of testosterone and action in this movie
