Any sweat young Ladies out there whom would like to go with Billy to see these sites under more independant circumstances please feel free to write him at nflb@writeme.com Or maybe you would like to share a few winter weeks with him at his house on the Gulf of Mexico.

Smallwood Dynasty
Perhaps Newfoundland's most eligible bachelor, Billy Smallwood was the first born of Joey Smallwood's smartest son (the lawyer). Billy's Mother had attended Oxford on scolarship. Newfoundland was still prosperous from before joining Canada and had the most millionaires per capita on earth. Towering above all were the Smallwood family, akin to the Kennedies when JFK was President.

Joey Smallwood had been wealthy before confederation, but Canada had paid him millions to lead their confederation cause. With the new rich, they would winter vacation in Florida. Now adays they prefer Ecuador, Cuba and Peru as more intellectually stimulating and more luxurious and natural.

Vacations and work abroad may interest the viewer, but The Smallwoods prefer to both live and work in Newfoundland. The Smallwoods invest most of their money abroad to earn more and avoid confederates' socialist derision. Due to Canada's economic oppression no business can survive in Newfoundland without tax and wage subsidies. Smallwoods prefer not go begging and pleasing corrupt politicians whom were once their office boys.

Christmas Vacation
Yet another Miami vacation as children. Front row; Bobby & Billy Smallwood.
Back row; Sophie Thornhill, onlooker, Marva Smallwood, Tanya Smallwood held by Beulah Milley, and Clara Smallwood.

Baby Bugle Boy
They were a terror on Miami beach. When Billy was bored blowing his bugle and Bobby drawing in the sand they would run off into the crowd. Once Bobby was so intent chasing Billy that he never noticed why Billy jumped and stepped on a blue jelly fish, a "Portugese Man of War". Bobby was rushed to the hospital. Another time Billy saw a mirage of Cuba's jungle coast. Yet another time the "Bobsy Twins" ran upwind seeking an icecream stall. Realizing they were lost they headed into Miami to find their apartment. A kindly old lady spotted them and brought them to a restaurant to eat as many deserts as they wanted. Bobby sampled about 10 deserts. Their miserly dad did not want to pay the old lady the desert bill, but couldn't get them back until he paid.

Whirley Bird
Billy and Bobby had been mini biking when a helicopter landed to wait for Poppy Joe. Bobby wore the red shirt, Douglas couldn't stop giggling at Dad making bird whistles, and Billy wore the gold shirt. The girls were from the LeDuc family, who did quite well with Albertan oil. This copter landed just behind the Dairy Bar, beyond the red building where Poppy Joe exhibits his exotic birds.

Golden Child in Private Jet
As a young child Billy was favoured for his intelligence. He is seen here leisurely reviewing briefs for then the world's largest hydro development and the Smallwood Reservoir. The pan faced teen in the back is cousin Joey, whom was an utter disappointment to Poppy Joe. Sitting on the floor is "Little Ramsay" who was only good for chasing and abusing women. The exuberant lad is brother Robert, who also showed brillence, but preferred to do technical work with his hands.

In 1999 Joey Jr. said on CBC radio that as a teen Poppy Joe flew him to New York in a private jet to attend an important contract signing. What Joey neglected to mention was that he was sent back home for being a self important dullard, while Ramsay, Robert and Billy continued on with Poppy Joe for a Winter vacation in Florida. John Doyle gave Poppy Joe the double sized flat in Bellaire, Tampa complete with furniture assembled by an interior designor. When Poppy Joe needed cash, John Doyle would pull out a stack of cash, which Poppy Joe would roll into a wheel held by an elastic band. Poppy Joe felt good with a full roll of cash in his hand. Joey still believes that he was honoured have been flown to New York just to attend the signing, whereas the other grandchildren's attendence was cheapened by their going on to Florida.

Sailing
One of the pleasures of Miami was sailing in warm water. However one remains cognisant of the sharks patroling two hundred yards from the beach.

Boating
Docking on their pond East of Newfoundland House. They pulled the boat in with the motored canoe. They had just spent the day building up the island so that they would have more birds nesting there. Robert is standing up in the back of the boat, while Billy holds the canoe to the wharf.

Repairing Bike Wheel
Robert is holding the wheel to his Yamaha 175 while Billy helps remove a striped sprocket. Robert loves doing wheelies. Behind Billy is his Can-Am 175 and the lake. Their garage is on the East end of their swimming pool building.

Barney
Billy's English Setter was hard to hold for a pose. Here he had just planted a wet one on Billy. The Newfoundland House's dining room is in the background.

Ski-dooing at Indian Bay Big Pond
Normally Billy stays at least nine days a Winter at this old loggers' cabin. It is between enormous ponds and even the warmest Winter without snow on the Avalon will provide great Ski-dooing. The ponds are so big he once hit a pressure ridge during a driving storm. He drove ten feet up and over a ice ramp, which was the lowest point there. The ice on the other side was perfectly smooth as it had separated and froze the previous night.

Newfoundland House
This was Joey's house and now belongs to the family. The wall blew down in a Winter storm. The green building houses their heated pool, bigger than most U.S. public pools. Most Newfoundlanders already know about Newfoundland House.

The Future in Bird Hunting
Billy shares a piece of toast with his puppy on the Newfoundland House's kitchen table. Todays puppy dog is bird hunting's future. The Smallwood's prefer partridge hunting. Billy and Robert usually go with friends, lots of dogs and a bottle from Poppy Joe's secret wine cellar. Early Hunters leaving may complain about the cold and not shooting all day. But in moments they hear a barage of shooting as the Smallwood's heat up their guns against the cold. Finding a secluded spot the hunting party boils up, drink choice wine, roll up, and blow off a few boxes of shells. It is nice to also bag supper.

Reading from Poppy Joe's Library
All is not physical activity for Smallwood's. A balance is found with intellectual growth as Billy reads choice selections from Poppy Joe's library.

Convocation
Here Billy receives his economics and business diploma. To date he is the only Smallwood to have ever completed University.

PetroInti's Hacienda
To do business in Peru one must live there and fit into their society. This is their companies' Hacienda. Pictured is their programmer facing their Chief Geophysicist. They have been very successful exploring Peru for oil, and have also staked a large gold claim.

Conference Room
Douglas stands ready as Billy points out some prospects they participate in.

Fun in the Amazon
Billy takes breaks from relentless socializing with Peru's Spanish gentry, to find peace deep in the Amazon Jungle. The maze of winding rivers and jungle may confuse many, but Billy relaxes, knowing the effort of tramping the jungle has few reprocussions. Just stay off of the shining path.

Queen Elizabeth II
Queen Elizabeth II photoed by Billy just before shaking his hand. P.M. Chretien looked out of place and came over to shake hands. His hand remained extended and bare until one old chubby confederate fish merchant pushed his way through to shake his hand. No doubt such selfish French businessmen likewise eagerly shook Hitler's hand. The Queen then headed to Bonavista to welcome The Mathew.
