Sid Kessler, your senior on the go, retired in 1991 and
has been traveling ever since. The backbone of his travel calendar is the
Elderhostel program. Sid considers himself a real Elderholic.
About
himself, Sid says
From l958 to l991, I taught
History and for a time was Chairman of the History Department at Glassboro
State College in Southern New Jersey. When I retired, I was awarded
the title of Professor Emeritus of
History. When Glassboro State
received a very large donation and changed its name to Rowan University, I
knew that like
Thomas Wolfe, I could not "go home again." Since l992, Elderhostel
has
become an
intellectual and social base for me. I enjoy
visiting localities and cultures I never had a chance to study before,
meeting new friends of my generation
and sharing my various experiences. This
web site was created by my loving partner of eight years, Claire Whitlock, who
has recently become a certified Microsoft Office User Specialist (MOUS). Many
of the photos in the Photo Album were taken by Claire.
