COASTERS

This is the newest of the seven areas. Here, as the name implies, you are taken to a southwest town which consists of many new rides including the 200 foot freefall ride - Giant Drop. New for 1999,Great America first Hyper-Twister Roller Coaster Raging Bull.. Southwest Territory also has, in my opinion, their best coaster...Viper. This wooden coaster is not their tallest or fastest, but it is non-stop hills and turns from the time your ride begins till it pulls into the station.

RAGING BULL - This is the parks newest attraction and their biggest. Travel nearly one mile of orange track at over 70 mph into high-banked turns and high drops in cars that have no sides. Looking at the layout in recent weeks from SkyTrek tower, it looks as though you will easily lose you bearings as to where you are on this ride because the track moves so fast and at such different angles. VIPER - this is a cyclone type layout roller coaster with lots of quick turns and hill.

GIANT DROP - Rise up the 200+ foot tower with your feet dangling in the open air style cars. At the top you will pause for about 5-10 seconds, then you freefall back to earth. GiantDrop.jpg (43784 bytes)
CHUBASCO - is a spinning teacup ride which will get you very dizzy, very fast. Usually you don't realize how dizzy you've become until you get off the ride. Around this ride there is a general area in which you can watch the people on the ride. Chuasco.jpg (102043 bytes)
RICOCHETT - is another spinning ride, but here, as the ride rotates, the cars are alternately kicked outward. Ricochett.jpg (97531 bytes)
RIVER ROCKER - is a pendulum, swing type ride. Here, on you canoe you are rocked back and forth getting higher and higher. RiverRcoker.jpg (98266 bytes)
TRAILBLAZER - is kind of hard to explain. You are seated sideways looking out over the Southwest territory. Then the wagon goes to the right up and over a few times and then reverses the motion and goes the other way. Halfway through it stops at the top and you can over look the area pretty good. trailblazer.jpg (80646 bytes)
