The Herps & Habitats Bearded Dragon IBD Page

Inclusion Body Disease (IBD) is an unidentified virus that attcks the brain and spinal tissues. It is well documented in snakes, and is believed to have spread to the captive lizard population as well. A well-known symptom of IBD is called stargazing. There is no cure at this time for IBD. Specimens should be immediately quarantined. Great care should be taken to clean and disinfect hands and clothing after contact with infected animals. Contact with healthy lizards should be minimized at the least.
