Frequently Asked Questions
Version 1.1 - Updated 12/05/01

Q: Do I need the FF6 ROM for your patches, or will FF3US work?
A: If it says FF6, then you need FF6, not FF3US, and vice versa. It's as simple as that. You would not believe how many people have tried to apply MIP to an FF6j ROM, or EoF to an FF3US ROM...

Q: Where can I find the FF6 ROM?
A: Somewhere on the net, most likely. I make the patches, I don't distribute the ROMs. I've come to realize that many of the Japanese Square games are indeed rare, but I can't do anything about that... Sorry!

Q: When will you release the next version of [insert project here]?
A: When I have enough material to release another version. Be patient, translation is a lengthy process when there's only one translator at work. As well, I tend to double-check my work and my references, so that lengthens things considerably. It's all for the love of the game...

Q: Will you translate (insert name of game here)?
A: As of now, I am not accepting translation requests. Perhaps once I get FF6 translated, then I will consider listening to such requests. Note, though, that I have no plans to translate any PSX games, nor any other CD or CD-like medium, so don't bother asking me.

Q: [innane question]?
A: [obvious answer]!
NOTE: The above was obligatory. Really, it was!

Q: Have you given up on [insert project name here]? I'd like to take over if you have...
A: I never give up on projects. They just get really, REALLY delayed sometimes. I might do no work on a project for three months, and then do a flurry of work on it over a week. My projects don't die, they just get worked on in brief but intense explosions of inspiration.

Q: I demand a new patch! Make one now!
A: That's not a question, but I want to make this clear: patches will NOT be made by request. When I feel that there is enough material (or I have a reliable method of re-inserting something), I will release a new patch. Demanding me to make a patch won't get you anything but me ignoring your demands.

Q: Erm, I think I might've pissed you off... Are you going to ignore me for all time now?
A: I don't hold grudges. If you piss me off once, I probably won't killfile you. Hell, you could probably piss me off a few times before you hit the Block Senders list. But please don't push your luck. I can understand a mistake, but if you're doing something just to taunt me, I'm not going to put up with it for long.

Q: I'm interested in helping you out. Can I?
A: It all depends on what sort of help you're offering. I don't take offers for web page design (I prefer to struggle through that myself, using trusty old Win32Pad, trial and error, and long nights). I do, however, accept offers for ASM hacking, translation, and advanced ROM hacking (ie. re-formatting menus, etc.). If you want to offer help along those lines, by all means, do so!

Q: I'm afraid to e-mail you now. What CAN I ask?
A: Just about anything within reason. Status on projects (not "is it still alive?", but "what's the status?"; slight difference), ROM hacking information, RPG Maker 2000 tips and tricks, and so on. I also don't mind compliments, constructive criticism (try to avoid "Yuor paig sux0rs"; not helpful), and suggestions for improvements of existing projects. Only one no-no here: please don't ask me to change the font I'm using for End of Fantasy. I know it's not Chicago 10 point, but I like it better than Woolsey's font (which is way too big). I may make a different font later, but for now, the Romancing of the Three Kingdoms 3 font stays.
