Click to download the Final Release of the Alien/Killer TC demo "Killer.zip"

1) This demo now works with ALL Doom ports, not just Legacy, so overwrite any older versions you may have

2) Remember to add killer.deh when you run the game!!! (eg. Zdoom -file killer.wad -deh killer.deh)

(Please note this is not the same as Justin Fischers Aliens TC in any way)

KILLER TC for Doom II

- New levels, graphics, enemies, weapons, sounds, everything.

- Due for completion in under 2-3 months (Sept/Oct 2000)

Screenshots:

(including pictures from Lawrence who is using some of the Killer TC graphics in his own impressive looking TC).

I really like Law's graphics here

Laws front page here

My demo: firing a missile down a passage of the abandoned Alien ship. Note this shot is very old: the released demo looks a lot more atmospheric.

My demo again: Rainfall down into the hull of the ship. The demo does not have this rainfall for 'technical reasons' (oh c'mon Andrew!)

News:

22/10/00 - Well it's been a while since I've updated. I have finally had enough of struggling to build levels with the shareware version of Deep97 because of the size constraints and that is why this final Killer TC release still has only 1 level in it (there were 2 others I would have included - one was too large for Deep and the other didn't 'feel right'). Despite this, there are still some big improvements this release has over its predecessors: 1) the Alien sprite is now in colour, not black and white, and its darker so it doesn't look like its glowing anymore; 2) this new Alien and the old "silver" Alien are both included in the new .wad file as multiplayer skins; 3) there are minor changes to the architecture of the first level to improve the look of some of the passages towards the end of the level; 4) the Aliens now travel over cliffs.

I think I'll give Doom-ing a rest for a few years now. I hope a few of you out there enjoy this. It represents a lot of late nights.

21/09/00 - Lawrence has been hard at work making his own Aliens levels and graphics. I don't know how we will fully intergrate mine and his versions of this Aliens TC but hey, it's worth a try. We've been keeping good correspondance and he's finally pursuaded me to update this site again. He lives in Cornwall which isn't too far from Birmingham if you're open minded.

I have made a version of my demo that works with Boom and ZDoom as well as Legacy. I think neglecting to make the first release totally compatible with all ports led to it being a flop that never saw it's true potential realised. Speaking of releases, Law writes, "as soon as I have finished my level I will be releasing what I have done.  Its a good idea to release demos so you can get feedback from people telling you what they didn't like and any ideas they have". Wise words.

Apart from all that, I've been level building most of the time (and I don't get much time to do this in). Admittantly, I haven't made that many over the last month or so, but I believe in a few good levels rather than a whole lot of poor ones. Excuses, excuses! In any case check Laws, screenshots out above.

One more thing, my bands gig went well - we played at the Flapper and Firkin last Thursday. (You have a band Andrew???). We might be filling a slot this Friday, too. Wish us luck.

21/08/00 - I have decided to do this demo 'kill2.zip' file myself, so this does not represent the work of any of the other team members that were mentioned on this site in the past. To be fair Lawrence has kept up contact but the effort has not been there from the other two members (not everyone has the time on their hands to do these TC's I suppose). Note that Kill2 is as single level with new sounds, graphics etc. The alien sprite alone and the skin for this sprite can be found from the main news page, https://members.tripod.com/skydiver_1.

20/07/00 - I have not heard much from anybody else who is meant to be helping me out on this project at the moment. I'm hoping they're just tied up at the moment and haven't lost interest. So far all this is my own work, and I will try to get as far as possible if the others don't get back to me. Andrew Loly
