Wild Horses
They graze throughout the grassy
fields
Across the blowing plains
All spread too numerous to
count
They know not fence or chains
They all look up quickly as
one
As heard a distant shout
The leader takes a single step
And turns his head about
They see something approaching
fast
The leader gives a call
He takes off at a silky run
The rest behind him fall
As fast as rushing water
They fly across the ground
They shake the earth with every
step
And make a thunderous sound
They run until the leader stops
At the approaching dawn
The herd of wild horses rest
The threat is far and gone
