The Nest
One sunny, shiny Autumn day
With leaves all gold and fiery
red
The Papa and the Mama Bird
Looked forward to the day ahead
They picked new branches from
the ground
And leaves to spread upon the
floor
Some extra down to line the
walls
And berries hanging on the door
They primped themselves with
extra care
They washed and preened to be
just so
Mama Bird fixed Papa's coat
Papa Bird tied Mama's bow
And then they stood there, side
by side
And with each other shared a
smile
Just as their fledgling, gone
so long
Has come back home to stay a
while
